2 Breakfast is available for purchase in the HS Commons from 6:50 to 9:00 am Friday Cinnamon Rolls, Egg, Bacon & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich, Cereal w/cheese Stick Announcements Lower Level (PK-5) Purple Week DCC Seniors welcome all Elementary School students to dress up and attend our Trick or Treat Street and Haunted Theater this Saturday, October 28 th! 5:00 7:00 pm at the high school free to trick or treat $3 for Haunted Theater (recommended for ages 10 and up). See you there! Friday Fruit & Yogurt Parfait w/granola, Sunbutter & Jelly Sandwich w/chips, Chili Cheese Fries w/roll, Pepperoni Pizza, Garden Salad Middle Level (6-8) Silver Day Attention Students: Mrs. Acker will be collecting your EXTRA Halloween candy for the soldiers on November 1 st. There are a lot of reasons to give your candy to the soldiers. 1. Give the candy you want them to have. 2. Give the candy you are allergic to. 3. Give the candy your parents won t let you eat because you have braces and finally, give the candy you don t like. The candy gets shipped to the soldiers overseas by Esthetic Family Dentistry. Please donate your candy to room 444 by Wednesday, November 8. We shipped over 10 CASES last year. Thanks everyone! Go Thunder! Trick or Treat in the DCC High School on October 28 from 5:00 7:00 pm. This event is free! You can also take advantage of our Haunted Theater (recommended for ages 10 and up) for $3 a person. Join us for the DCC Middle School Orchestra Concert, Wednesday, November 7 th at 7:00 pm! Our concert will feature a professional violin soloist, holiday music, a symphony and much more! Join us for the DCC Middle School Band Concert on Wednesday, November 8 th. Our 6 th Grade Band will be playing at 6:30 pm, and our 7 th & 8 th Grade Bands will play at 7:30 pm. Our concert will feature music inspired by cultures around the world and we will play a piece honoring our veterans. Red Ribbon Spirit Week is October 30 through November 3. 3 Friday Team up against drugs, wear your favorite team jersey What Patriotism Means to Me is the topic for this year s student essay contest. The essay is due November 1 st, submitted to Ms. Eaves. One winner from each grade level will receive a gift and will read their essay during the assembly. DCC Middle s first drama performance of the year, Charlotte s Web will be on Thursday, October 26 and Friday, October 27 at 7:00 pm. $5 for adults, $2 for students, and staff is free with their staff ID. Can t wait to see you there! A.S.H. After School Help will be held today from 3:20 4:45 pm with Ms. Smith in the MS Library. B.A.S.H. Band After School Help No BASH today. M.A.S.H. Math After School Help No MASH today. Detention No detention today. BeSST - Before School Study Time is every morning from 7:35-8:05 am in the MS Gym with Mr. Smiley. Friday Orange Chicken in Stir Fry Vegetables & Rice, Teriyaki Chicken Special, Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Sausage Pizza, Nachos, Tacos & Burritos Upper Level (9-12) Silver Day Seniors! Don t forget your senior service project for the community is this Saturday, October 28. All of our feeder schools are excited for our Trick or Treat Street and Haunted Theater from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Students can serve one of three sessions or all! Students can set up and decorate from 3:30-5:00 pm, hand out candy from 5:00-6:30 pm or hand out candy and do a quick clean up from 6:00-7:30 pm. Pizza will be served to all volunteers before 5:00 pm. This is an expectation for all of seniors, and our community always loves it! French and Spanish Honor Society want to extend an invitation to you to join us on November 7 for International Night, 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the HS Commons. It s a night where the cultural diversity of Discovery Canyon Campus is expressed through cuisine, tables set ups with information about countries, and art from all over the world, plus talent presentations as well. Please invite your students to join us either by taking part or visiting that night. Student s participation could be in the form of: Sharing a talent Cultural presentations Having a table set up that includes a poster with information and facts from the country of their choice, as well as artifacts Bringing authentic food to share Signup Links: Cultural Presentation / Talent Country Poster & Food

Promoting Individual Natural Kindness Every-Day. T-Shirt sales begin today, October 23 through October 27 in room 320 for $13.00 a shirt. Proceeds go towards promoting kindness on the DCC campus. Shirts worn on Wednesday s Stop by Room 320- really, anytime. We love visitors! Join us for DCC s first-ever Writers Week this January! We want to hear your stories, poetry, speeches, songs, and more! Pick up an application outside rooms 332 or 328 or talk to your English teacher. Applications are due this Friday, October 27. Share your words, celebrate your story! This week is Sophomore Socktober, which is our Sophomore Class philanthropy to gather new socks to donate to the Urban Peak shelter which helps homeless teens have a safe place to sleep. Please bring in new socks and put them in the Socktober boxes in the front lobby. Attention Students: I need your voice!! We are currently working on revamping our current student dress code policy. Please take a short survey. The link was in the 20 Alert, as well as sent out in some of your class remind, and will hopefully be on the board in thunder time. If you have any questions or
