3 STAFFORD MSD PREPARES MEAL FOR STAFFORD FIRST RESPONDERS The Stafford Culinary Arts Program, along with Stafford MSD CFO Daniel Flores and Stafford MSD Superintendent Dr. Robert Bostic started a new tradition this year preparing a delicious meal for City of Stafford First Responders. We are grateful for our Police Officers and Firefighters!

4 SMSD/SHARE YOUR HOLIDAYS FOOD DRIVE Stafford MSD Board Secretary Xavier Herrera spearheaded the District s participation in the Channel 13 Share Your Holidays Food Drive. For the second straight year, Stafford Intermediate was the campus with the most donations.

5 STAFFORD HIGH HIRES INTERIM PRINCIPAL We are proud to announce the hiring of Dr. Phyllis Tyler as the Stafford High School Interim Principal, effective immediately. Dr. Tyler brings 40 years of educational experience to the position, including six successful years as the Principal at Stafford Middle School ( ) We are grateful for Dr. Tyler s leadership during this time of transition, and she will serve as Interim Principal until a permanent Principal is hired. The District is in the process of interviewing candidates for the permanent position of High School Principal. We expect to hire the right candidate in early 2018.

8 Former Stafford MSD student Fatima Santos-Chicas passed away on Tuesday, December 5. Ms. Santos-Chicas, a 2012 Stafford High graduate, courageously fought Leukemia for three years. 9 M IS FOR MSD MARCO S PIZZA The Stafford location of Marco s Pizza (U.S. 90-A) will begin donating 15 percent of its sales to Stafford MSD every Monday night through March. Mention SMSD between the hours of 3-10 p.m. on Mondays, and they will donate to SMSD.

10 SMSD ALUMNI SUCCESS STORY Texas State University student Karl Hoelscher, a 2012 Stafford High School graduate, returned to SMSD to complete an internship in Athletic Training this semester. We enjoyed having Hoelscher back on campus, and we wish him well as he completes his degree in San Marcos.

11 SMSD Barnes & Nobles Fundraiser Barnes & Noble at First Colony Mall in Sugar Land will donate 12 percent of proceeds from all sales to SMSD when you mention SMSD between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9. If you stop by, you will have a chance to see our robotics students demonstrate their new robot, meet our library staff and cheerleaders to cheer us on and help celebrate the holidays! Barnes & Noble offers books, music, DVDs, educational toys and games, gift product and so much more.
