Go out there with a big smile, have fun and dance your heart out! From the dansko Directors and all of the instructors, we wish you a fabulous performance! We are so proud of you! *The last day of regular classes takes place in the studio Monday, June 5th. After that, as we begin our technical rehearsals, we will be at the Royal Theatre finishing off our year with an awesome weekend of well -deserved performances! Please make sure you double check your child s on stage dress rehearsal time. This information is posted on our website as well as at the front door of the studio. Our 2017/2018 dance season will commence September 11th, 2017.

2 2017/2018 REGISTRATION Our 2017/2018 schedule will be available June 13th. At that time, you will receive an from dansko advising you of what classes you will be pre-approved for in the fall. Online Registration for current pre-approved students: Monday, June 19th 9:00am - Tuesday June 20th 12:00pm. Consultations for returning dancers: Tuesday, June 20th from 4:00 7:00 dansko. Consultations and registration for NEW dancers: Wednesday June 21st from dansko. Online Registration link : Please log in by using your main address. If you haven't set up an account before you must click on 'forgot password' and create an account this way. Once you are in your account go to 'enroll in my pre approved classes'. Check off which classes you would like to enroll in and then click enroll' and follow the steps towards check out from there. *Registration is not complete until payment has been made. To secure your registration, you will need to come in during the office hours listed below to arrange payment method.* *Your payment plan for the 2017/2018 dance season must be set up by June 30th@ 6pm in order to hold your placement.*

4 WHAT IS danskore? danskore is dansko s competitive company group and is determined by audition only. It is for students who are highly interested in and committed to competitive dance. danskore dancers must have a strong work ethic and follow the training requirements outlined below. Competitive Dance Program Competitive Dance is a popular widespread activity in which competitors perform dances in various permitted dance styles for judges. Competitive dancers will have the opportunity to compete locally and possibly out of town depending on which competitive stream you are enrolled in. Our Competitive dancers are also required to take exam prep classes which will prepare them for in studio ADAPT Jazz and Tap exams and may also have opportunities to receive extra work in the form of a solo/duo, trio or small group. This decision of extra work is decided at the discretion of dansko s Directors. dansko s competitive dance program is an intense and demanding program where dancers are required to train as follows:

5 Competitive Jazz Class: Minimum 2x/week Ballet and Jazz Tech Competitive Tap Class: Minimum 1 Jazz Tech Competitive Ballet Class: Minimum 2 Ballet class and Jazz Tech Competitive Contemporary Class: Minimum 1 Jazz Tech Competitive Modern Class: Minimum 1 Jazz Tech Competitive 1 Requirements: 1 local competition and all minimum class requirements. Competitive 2 Requirements: 1 local competition and 1 out of town competition as well as all minimum class requirements. Competitive 3 Requirements: 1 local competition and 2 out of town competitions as well as all minimum class requirements. Competitive Class Description and Yearly Outline *All competitive classes perform at our Showcase early April. *Competitions are in April and May. Dates and venues for the competitions will be ed out at the beginning of the dance season. *All Jazz and Tap competitive classes doing ADAPT exams are specified on the 2017/2018 schedule *There are additional competition and exam fees * *All required classes for the competitive program must be taken through dansko. Extenuating circumstances must be submitted in writing and will be reviewed by dansko Directors.
