1 August/September 2016 Newsletter FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT: I hope you enjoyed this wonderful summer. It is always great to enjoy summer time with your family and friends. We are really excited about the start of our new gym construction. Please be careful around the construction site. The gym should be completed by the end of September The new school year starts Tuesday, August 15. We will be dismissing the students at 1:30 followed by an open house from 2:00-4:00. Come and meet your child s teacher and the rest of our staff. On behalf of the Walthill Public Schools Board of Education, the administration, and the staff, I would like to welcome everyone back for another educational school year. Please contact me or one of the principals if you have any questions or concerns. Mark Evetovich is our elementary principal. Marty Slaughter is our assistant principal. Ed Ross is our secondary principal. I am extremely proud of our custodial staff and their efforts to make our school a clean and safe place for our children. They provide a welcoming atmosphere for our children every year. Please take the time to personally thank our custodians for their hard work and dedication to our school. I would like to welcome the staff members back to another school year at Walthill Public Schools and extend a welcome to the new staff members. I would like to introduce our new staff member: Stephanie Rokusek will be our Sped teacher. The mission statement is We the people of Walthill Public School District are committed to generating a caring, respectful, and safe learning environment, which promotes positive self-realization and high academic success. The school purpose and direction is inspire lifelong learners, encourage pride in self and culture, promote responsible citizenship, and adapt to changing societal needs. We can provide each and every student the opportunity to become successful in life's endeavors by following the mission statement and our school purpose and direction statement. I live by the model that All of our decisions need to be based on what is best for the children!! The staff at Walthill Public Schools is excited about our students and the opportunities that we can provide for them. Thanks to all the families who continue to support our school. We can make a difference if we work together! We hope that you will visit our school and support our students in their academics and activities throughout the school year.
