Feb 20 NO SCHOOL President s Day Mar 8 Mar 12 March Fifth Grade Field Trip 8:15 A.M. - 12:00 P.M Daylight Savings Remember you can check the school calendar on our website Kindergarten registration packets are now available in the office Students must be 5 years old on or before September 1, Boones Ferry parents interested in the Kindergarten Dual Language (Spanish-English) Program at Lowrie Primary must have their completed registration packets returned to the Boones Ferry office by Tuesday, January 31, Should interest for the Dual Language class exceed class capacity a lottery will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. District Office Boardroom. For parents who wish to learn about the Dual Language program an informational meeting will be held on Monday, January 30th at 6:00 P.M. This meeting will be held at Lowrie Primary School. The evening agenda will be presented in both Spanish and English. Childcare will be available. Pre-school Registration Pre-school registration packets are now available in the office. Students must be three or four years old on or before September 1, Pre-school is a tuitionbased, five days a week program. Two morning classes will be offered from 8:00-11:00. Those interested can stop by the school office and pick up registration forms Monday-Friday 7 A.M.- 3 P.M. Tickets to this great community event buys you: Special ticket pricing Everyone participating in this event is invited to come down onto the court after the game and shoot a free throw Enter the raffle for an opportunity to high-five the Trail Blazers as they run out onto the court through the pre-game Courtside Kids experience! 20 kids between 7 and 13 years of age will be chosen All Proceeds are donated to The WLWV Education Foundation to support our purpose to hire more teachers to the District Tickets will be available for purchase until Friday, January 27th. 3 Page 3 Dragonflier January 20, 2017 Community Events YOUTH BASEBALL - WILSONVILLE LITTLE LEAGUE Register by January 30th for Spring Baseball/T-ball! Monday, January 30th - registration closes. T-Ball for ages 5-6: If your player turned 5 by 12/31/2016, they are ready to play T-Ball! Saturday January 28th, 2-4:00pm LIVE REGISTRATION at Wilsonville High School, just inside the front doors. New players, bring proof of residency and a copy of a birth certificate. Check website for forms. Saturday February 4th, POKER SHOOTOUT fundraiser Put on your poker face and join us at the Wilsonville Holiday Inn. Anyone who enjoys playing at any level is welcome. Doors open at 4:00pm for on-site registration or register online, dinner and drinks, games start at 5:00pm. Must be 18+ years old. **Saturday** February 11th, 4-5:30pm COACHES CLINIC at Wilsonville High School in Coach Bryn Card s classroom. **Note this date change** Thursday February 16th, 6:30pm PARENT MEETING at Boeckman Creek Primary School cafeteria/multipurpose room. We will outline the schedule, tryout/ evaluation information, opening day and uniforms. Check our website for more details. FREE Players CLINIC!!! MONDAY FEBRUARY 20TH, 4-5:30pm at Wilsonville High School fields. Coach Card, his staff and WLL coaches will lead a free clinic to help get the rust off and get players ready for the baseball season. Monday February 20th, 6-7:30pm 2nd COACHES CLINIC at Wilsonville High School in Coach Bryn Card s classroom. Saturday February 25th and Sunday February 26th, TRYOUTS at Wilsonville High School fields. Sign-up Genius for tryout time to be provided. T-ball players will not need to tryout. Players will need to come to a tryout on one of these days. Any player wishing to play in a division above or below their age appropriate division, will need to tryout for both divisions. Waivers must be filled out by January 30th. February 25th and 26th, SHOP AT DICKS FOR 20% OFF Wilsonville Little League s exclusive shopping event at the Lake Oswego Store. Boones Ferry PSS 5 th Bi-Annual Auction Saturday, January 28, 2017 Holiday Inn Wilsonville CLASSROOM BASKETS On Saturday, 1/28/17, Boones Ferry Primary PSS is hosting our fifth bi-annual auction themed Making Magic Happen. With fewer dollars from the local option to fund our schools, our auction is essential in helping us secure high quality programs and opportunities for our students. One of the most fun and popular items at the bi-annual auction event is the Classroom Baskets. Below are the specific basket themes, divided by grade level. Because many of you have connections through business, vendors, friends, and family that can donate items, the auction team counts on classroom support to contribute to each specific basket.
