In a wee little town called Edingow, which is tucked away in the north of Scotland, there lived four young boys. Although these boys were still quite young, they weren t just any boys, oh no, they were the naughtiest boys of all. Their names were Pud, Yuck Boy, Smegbie and Henton. They would steal sweets, pull girls hair and even push the elderly people over. They were not at all liked in the town of Edingow and made a lot of people upset and cross. Henton, the youngest of them all, was a particularly naughty little boy. He was so naughty that even when the other three boys were asleep at night time, he would still carry on getting up to old tricks and cause lots of problems for the people that lived in Edingow. One night, when the other boys were sleeping, Henton decided to cause some trouble again but this time, Henton took it too far.

He decided he was going to climb a tree and sneak into his friend s house through the bedroom window. But as he was getting higher and higher, the branches started to become thinner and thinner, then suddenly one snapped! Henton lost his footing, came crashing down and landed with a loud thud on the roof of a car. But when he landed on the car, he dented it and left a great big bowl shape. Henton was so scared he ran away, he kept on running and running until he could run no more. Henton became so tired that he laid down on a bench and fell asleep. When morning came Henton woke up to a huge shock, he had run so far that he had arrived in England! Meanwhile back in Edingow, the other three boys were awoken with a loud, booming knock at the door, the boys ran downstairs and swung the front door wide open. Uh oh it was the police.

Boys, this time you have taken it one step too far. You ve been causing trouble for years and it s about time you all learnt your lesson. The policeman said standing over the three petrified boys in a loud booming voice. But we haven t done anything said Pud. We ve just woken up! said Yuck Boy. I ve not even had breakfast yet! Said Smegbie. The three boys all stood there rather confused. You ve damaged Mr Winkle s car. Boys, you are coming with me. The policeman said and with a click of his fingers, all three of the boys were in the back of the police car. I bet this was Henton said Smegbie. He just won t stay out of trouble and now we ve got the blame.

When the boys arrived at the police station, the police officer marched them all into a cell and slammed the door. The boys were upset and confused as they didn t know what was going on. Do you think we ll ever get out of here? Said Yuck Boy. I don t know. Said Pud and he began to cry. Henton, who was now out of England, had managed to catch a train all the way back to Edingow. He thought that what he had done was so funny and he just couldn t wait to tell the others. He ran straight round to Pud s house laughing the whole way. But when he arrived, Pud didn t answer the door, his mum did. Pud s mum was not happy, she explained that the boys had been taken away by the police and that they were all very upset and angry.

Henton panicked, he ran straight to the station to explain what had happened. As he ran in to the station he could see the boys in a small room to the side. Henton went to open the door handle but as he pushed down on the handle, a hand landed on his shoulder. It was the police officer. Excuse me Henton, but you re coming with me. The police officer told Henton that the boys had told them what happened and that he was in a lot of trouble. You know Henton, you should always tell the truth. Even if you do something bad, it s better to be truthful than to run away. THE END

In a little school in the English countryside, a new boy arrived, he was called Igor and he didn t look very friendly, in fact he was a lot bigger than all the other children. Igor stood with the teacher and frowned at everyone staring back at him. One boy, called Chulk decided that he didn t like Igor. He thought he was rude and not friendly like the other children in the class. Igor was told that he had to sit next to Chulk in the lesson. Chulk was not happy and did not speak to him. During the lesson, Igor took Chulk s pens and scribbled all over his picture, so Chulk scribbled all over Igor s. From then on, the two boys never got on.

In the playground, they would steal each other s toys, including a large toy hammer that they would hit each other with. They would never pick each other for teams nor would they speak to each other. This carried on for years and years, everybody became tired of it and decided they should sort it out once and for all. Igor grew up and moved away to Sweden, whilst Chulk stayed in the town of Ilkley. They both became carpenters and were very well respected. They both had lots of friends and enjoyed playing football. One day, both Igor and Chulk received an invitation through the post, the invitation read:

"Dear classmates, You are invited to the Greenholme School reunion on Saturday 11th November in the school hall, both Igor and Chulk, you are required to cause no fuss and must be friends before you arrive. Looking forward to seeing you, Mrs Hibbet" The two boys were both furious, they did not want to be friends, but they wanted to see their old classmates whom they had not seen for many years. Igor received a message from Chulk arranging to meet in the park beside their old school. He asked to meet him on Saturday afternoon at 3pm.

When Saturday afternoon came, it was bright and sunny. Chulk and Igor were both making their way to the park where they were going to settle their differences once and for all. But as they both approached each other from opposite ends, they began to chuckle. You haven t changed at all Igor exclaimed, pointing at Chulk. Neither have you! Said Chulk laughing away. The two boys, instead of arguing just laughed, they laughed about all the silly things they used to do in school, especially the fact that they used to hit each other over the heads with their toy hammers!

They decided to meet again the next day before they went to their school reunion and arrive together. So, the next day came, and Chulk and Igor met up at the park where they were the day before. They walked to their old school together, laughing the whole way and when they arrived,, everyone turned and looked at them shocked and surprised. You re friends?! exclaimed John. Have you two made up? asked Polly. Chulk and Igor both laughed to each other and said together, We were young and silly, but we now realise that you must try and work things out. You must always remember to try and understand someone else s point of view. THE END

Once upon a time, there lived a young girl called Shirley. Shirley was a bright and funny girl and loved to solve problems, problems of all shapes and sizes. Maths problems, science problems and even problems that people had. Shirley was very well loved in her neighbourhood as she would always be there to lend a helping hand. She helped the lollipop lady with the children crossing the road, she helped the cooks at school chop up all the vegetables for everyone s dinners and she even helped dad with the gardening. Shirley s best friend Anna loved Shirley dearly for her kind heart and always wished that she could do something to help her. One day when Shirley and Anna came home from school, they found Shirley s younger brother, Jimmy, crying in his bedroom.

What s wrong Jimmy? Shirley asked with a very worried look on her face. Mr Hiccups has gone missing and dad said he might not come back Jimmy sniffled and let out a huge wail. Shirley also began to cry and hugged her brother tight. I am going to find Mr Hiccups, Shirley you always help everyone and now I m going to help you said Anna and with that, she stood up and ran out of the front door. Anna set to work straight away, she made posters of Mr Hiccups and began to search all over the town. Anna got everyone involved to help look for Mr Hiccups but began to lose hope. Then suddenly, Anna remembered, that she had seen Mr Hiccups the day before sleeping on the seat of a van. The van had the logo Bonjour Paris written on the side.

Oh no! Anna thought, Mr Hiccups could be all the way in Paris in France. She knew she could not wait a moment longer and immediately ran to the train station. Anna got on the first train to London, she knew she had to get there as fast as she could. When she finally arrived in London, she ran through the train station and hopped on the Eurostar to continue her journey all the way to France. Anna told as many people as she could what had happened and asked them to keep their eyes and ears pealed in case they saw Mr Hiccups. When Anna arrived in Paris it was very busy, there were food stalls selling croissants and lots of street performers, she couldn t believe her eyes! Bonjour Madam a young Frenchman said, how are you?

Anna began to explain what had happened to Mr Hiccups and that she needed to find him to take him home to Shirley and Jimmy. The Frenchman chuckled and pointed. There sat by Anna s side was Mr Hiccups. Mr Hiccups! Anna squealed. She picked him up and cuddled him. Mr Hiccups let out a loud, PURRRRR. Anna thanked the kind Frenchman and made the long journey back to England. When Anna arrived at Shirley and Jimmy s house she could see through the window that they were still very upset. Anna ran up the drive with Mr Hiccups at her feet.

Shirley, Jimmy, I have a surprise! Anna shouted as she ran through the front door. Jimmy and Anna rushed out the front room. MR HICCUPS! They both screamed with delight. Oh, Anna you re the kindest person in the world said Shirley, you really are the best! THE END

In a faraway land, there lived a young boy called Ben Baker. Ben was a special person as he had been gifted with amazing powers that allowed him to run, jump and fly quicker than anyone else in the entire world. There were only 9 other people in the world that had special powers just like him, and Ben had always dreamed of meeting them. These 9 superheroes called themselves The Avengers. The Avengers could stop hurricanes, tidal waves and most importantly, the villains of the super world. It was every superhero s dream to be part of the Avengers team. One day, Ben decided to write to the captain of the Avengers, the incredible bulky man. He asked if he could come and meet them, to tell them about his amazing powers in the hope that he too could join the Avengers team.

But the incredible bulky man read Ben s letter and wrote back, Ben, I thank you for your kind words but you are just not strong enough, our work is too dangerous for you, we will always be watching and when we think you are ready we will send you a letter. Ben was very upset by this and wanted to prove them wrong. He decided that he must show that he was strong enough. He decided that the best way to prove his bravery would be to help the police fight crime in his town, this would prove to the incredible bulky man that he s exactly what they need in their team. Over the next few months Ben fought robbers who tried to steal jewellery, he chased after thieves who had stolen cars and he even managed to stop a bank heist.

Ben devoted all his free time to fighting crime and making the world a better place but still he had not received his letter. Ben began to lose hope and decided to stop fighting crime all together. He was starting to think that his dreams were never going to come true. He became very sad and spent a lot of time in his bedroom, Ben didn t want to speak to anyone. He refused to come out of his bedroom and didn t want to play with any of his friends. His family were very upset as they hated seeing Ben like this, they wanted to do something to help but they just didn t know what could make him feel happy again. Ben s mum tried to everything to cheer Ben up, she baked a cake, she made him his favourite dinner and she even fixed his superhero car, but Ben was still very sad.

Then one day, Ben received a letter through the post, but this wasn t just any letter. This letter was gold and was so bright that Ben could barely look at it. He picked the letter up and with a whoosh the letter flew out of his hand and suddenly there, in front of him was the incredible bulky man. Ben, we, The Avengers, have decided that you have proven yourself as a superhero. You have gone above and beyond what we would expect. You have helped save your community from danger and you have thought about others before yourself. That is what we look for, welcome to the team. With a flash, the incredible bulky man was gone. Ben couldn t believe it, he was so happy he began to jump up and down and squeal with excitement. Ben s mum ran downstairs to see what all the racket was about.

Mum, mum, mum I m now an Avenger, they ve accepted me into their team. Ben s mum was thrilled for him and gave him a huge hug. Well, I think this calls for a celebratory tea, don t you? THE END

In the deep dark depths of the ancient land of Egypt there stood a golden pyramid, which glistened so brightly in the sunlight you could hear it sparkle for miles around. Inside this glistening pyramid lay a mummy, this mummy was the great Queen Latisha, the daughter of the great pharaoh Romeo, but Latisha was not just any mummy, oh no, she was a haunted mummy. Legend has it that anyone that dare enter the pyramid where Latisha lay to rest would turn into a zombie, and the only way that you could be cured was to drink the rare dragon juice. Lots of holiday makers would come and visit the golden pyramid to gawp at the haunted mummy, but no one would dare enter the pyramid where she lay. The local villagers would warn the tourists of the cursed mummy and explained that the only way to rid the curse was to drink the rare dragon fruit juice, which was in fact at the top of the pyramid, where no one could ever get to.

One sunny afternoon a family arrived at the pyramids in the Egyptian desert to visit the famous Queen Latisha, however this family thought that the local villagers were just playing tricks when they told them of the cursed mummy. They refused to believe them that this old legend was true. The family walked around gazing at the glistening golden pyramid with all the other tourists, when suddenly, their youngest, Alex, decided that he wanted to go and find the mummy inside. Alex quickly snuck away from his family and ran to the door of the pyramid, and in a flash, Alex was gone.

He ran into the dark pyramid and down the tunnels, where there were hieroglyphics on the walls that told old ancient stories from thousands of years ago. Suddenly, out the corner of his eye, Alex saw the golden tomb where Queen Latisha was laid. He began to walk slowly towards the tomb staring at the mummy, when suddenly, the mummy rose from her tomb. She stared at Alex, bright lights shot out of her eyes and in an instant, Alex was cursed! His legs felt like wobbly jelly and his arms stuck out straight in front of him, he couldn t control his body and without asking his legs to, he was being marched out of the pyramid. He was being marched down the tunnels, past the hieroglyphics and out in to the open air, Alex couldn t stop himself, but following behind him was the mummy!

Alex s family screamed when they saw him come out of the pyramid, but they screamed even louder when they saw the mummy behind him! Alex s dad knew he had to get the magic dragon fruit juice at the top of the pyramid, he began to try and climb but his shoes were too slippy, he kept desperately trying, but it was no use. Alex and the mummy were now getting quicker and faster and chasing the local villagers. The villagers and the tourists were all running in hysterics, there was panic everywhere. Out of nowhere, Alex s dad heard a huge, loud squawk. He looked up and a huge bird swept Alex s dad off his feet, he picked him up and was being lifted higher and higher.

As he was being lifter higher he was getting closer to the top of the pyramid, he could see the dragon fruit juice. Alex s dad managed to kick the dragon fruit juice off the top of the pyramid, it rolled all the way down and landed on the floor,at the foot of Alex s feet. Alex knew he had to drink the juice, he managed to pick it up and with one gulp, it was gone. The mummy was now scared and ran back into the tomb, she ran down the tunnel, past the hieroglyphics and straight into her tomb. Alex s dad shut the door of the pyramid tight so that she could never escape again. The villagers all cheered and Alex s family all lived happily ever after. THE END
