I trust that everyone enjoyed a well-deserved break, and quality time with family, over our Thanksgiving weekend. Students, thank you for helping to ring in the Season with your fine performance in the Holiday Parade! UNIFORM REMINDER - All Uniforms should be dropped off for Dry Cleaning at On the Spot Cleaner on the corner of Broadview and 82 in Broadview Hts. Please note, this is the ONLY dry cleaner that is authorized to clean our uniforms, due to liability and insurance issues. *Simply hand them the uniform jacket and pants, and give them your name. They will have a list of band students and cross off that your uniform has been cleaned. Once you pick up your uniform, please keep it hung up at home until you come on March 23rd to leave for Florida! * The payment for this cleaning was built into your Booster Fee, so there is no need to pay when you pick up your uniform. Brecksville - Broadview Hts High School Band Boosters 6380 Mill Road Broadview Hts., OH President: Gina Koziol 1st VP: Gina Messina 2nd VP: Cindy Klaus Secretary: Linda Begley Treasurer: Amy Zajac Articles are due the 20th of each month to be published in the following month s newsletter. to: mlshively@roadrunner.com HOLIDAY CONCERT Thursday, Dec. 19th (CT 6:30) All of our students have been working hard on their new music since the beginning of concert season, and we look forward to sharing it with you. Please make sure to locate, and have students try on, their concert attire this week if anyone has had a growth spurt since August, please let us know and we will arrange a refitting. LOOKING AHEAD: Wind Ensemble Winter Rehearsals As is our winter tradition, the Wind Ensemble will have a few additional evening Sectional rehearsals leading up to our March concert. More information to come! OMEA Solo and Ensemble Contest Saturday, Feb. 1st This event is always a fantastic opportunity for musical growth! Interested students should complete the online form that is found on the band website. DISNEY UPDATE A second Disney mailing will be sent to your home in mid-january. It will contain updated itinerary information, medical forms, updated student account balances, information on the 2nd payment, and more. *MANDATORY TRIP MEETING Monday, February 7:00 (HS Aud) All students attending the trip, along with one parent, are required to attend this meeting (more information to come in the January mailing). It is truly a pleasure to work with such fine students and parents. Many thanks, and best wishes to all for an enjoyable holiday, and a Happy New Year! Sincerely, Jason Wyse
2 Letter From the President Gina Koziol Even though my Friday nights have gotten boring without any marching band performances to watch, I m looking forward to the holiday season ahead and especially to our Christmas concert on Thursday, December 19th. Before you know it, it will be time for a great performance down Main Street USA in Disney! I d like to thank our wonderful citrus chairs, Erin Blauman and Shelly Thornton, for organizing another very successful citrus sale. Thanks to all the parents and students who came out to help with the pickup. Thanks also to those families who sold and bought citrus. Remember buying just 1 box helps not only your student s account but also helps fund our Band Boosters to allow us to dry clean uniforms, buy new instruments and purchase other items our band needs. Thanks for your support! Just a reminder there will not be a Band Booster meeting in December but hope to see you at the next meeting in January. The Koziol Family, (Bill, Gina, Nick 11 and Sam 15) wish you a very happy holiday season! The BBHHS Indoor Percussion Ensemble will begin auditions on Thursday, December 5th. If your son or daughter is interested in being a member, check the percussion web site at for the latest information, schedules, and audition materials. We are excited about the show this year, and we hope everyone will get a chance to see one of the performances this season. A huge thank you to ALL who volunteered their time and/or brought in food items to make this year s senior reception a success. A special thank you to Renee Waite who made all of the bows for the corsage s worn by the seniors.
