2 Attention sixth graders, Are you interested in a break from the noisy cafeteria, but don t have any missing work or re-takes to complete with teachers? Do you like old school Disney movies? If so, see Ms. McDonald Jr. with 3 bobcat bucks for a ticket to watch the Lion King next week during lunch in room 121. The movie will begin Tuesday and play until we watch the whole thing (probably the following Monday).
3 This week s College of the Week is The University of Central Florida. It is an American public research university in Orlando, Florida. It ranks in the top 20 for being the largest university in the United States by undergraduate enrollment as well as the largest by total enrollment Founded in 1963 by the Florida Legislature, UCF opened in 1968 as Florida Technological University, with the mission of providing personnel to support the growing U.S. space program at the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on Florida's Space Coast. As the academic scope expanded beyond its original focus on engineering and technology, "Florida Tech" was renamed The University of Central Florida in UCF's space roots continue as the university currently leads the NASA Florida Space Grant Consortium This has been your College of the Week.

6 Thanks to everyone who tried out for Rock n Soul 16. There were a lot of fantastic auditions, and the competition was very tough. We wish we could accept all who auditioned. We want those who did not make it this year to please try again next year. The list of cast and crew will be posted by lunches today. The first rehearsal is tomorrow, Wednesday, January 18, in Mr. McAdams s room 120.
7 STEP SHOW Upcoming! New! There is going to be a step show on March 31 st To attend you must have A s, B s, C s and the 3 R s in behavior. That means no suspensions in the third nine weeks marking period.
8 Attention 7 th and 8 th Grade Honor Roll students! Are you interested in helping your fellow peers while earning SSL hours? If so, then you are invited to attend an information session on January 19 th during lunch to learn about the Success Peer Tutoring program. Visit the counseling office during advisory or lunch (with a pass) for more information.
9 The PBIS team would like to recognize students for participating in our ready to learn advisory activity. Students and their advisory teachers were entered into a drawing. 10 Attention Banneker family! Banneker's STEM Night will be held on Thursday, January 19, from 6:00-7:30 pm. Come out and enjoy a night of Math and Science exploration! Teachers will be showcasing a variety of Math and Science activities for parents, students and community members to participate in, learn some cool stuff and enjoy some free popcorn too!
