1 10 Broadway St., Rothesay, N.B. E2H 1B2 Phone Principal Sharon McCracken December 2018 Christmas Our Christmas will be held on Tuesday, December 18th at 12 noon. Mrs. Munn has been working very hard to put together a great show. We will only have one concert. Our intention is to hold it at noon hour so that all our friends and family who have to be at work will be able to attend on lunch breaks. The concert is about 45 minutes long. The PTA is doing a VIP parking and seat raffle. Information is attached at the end of the newsletter. The prize will be drawn on Friday, December 14 th. We will call the winner as soon as the draw is made. The dress rehearsal will be on December 13 th. Here is a list of suggestions from Mrs. Munn for what students may wear. Kindergarten - Santa hats if they have them and whatever they like to wear Grade 1 - Slippers and/or pyjamas and/or housecoats Grade 2 - They could wear aprons or chefs hats. Grade 3 - Santa hats, red or green clothes Grade 4 - Country folk-jeans, plaid shirts, straw hats, cowboy boots, suspenders Grade 5 - football jerseys or just plain clothes (many of the children have other roles that they will dress for)

2 The Spirit of Giving Challenge Food Bank Challenge From December 3 rd to the 14 th students at Kennebecasis Park Elementary will be having a Food Bank Challenge. Which class can bring in the most items to donate to the KV Food Bank? Student leaders will go around to each class daily and tally the items collected. On the 14 th the totals will be announced along with the winning class. Some Items to consider are fruit, vegetables, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant and anything else you may eat in your own household. The community of K-Park Elementary wants to make a difference for someone else. Thanks to Mrs. Hull and the student leaders for taking on this meaningful project. PTA Meeting There will be a PTA Meeting on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the staff room. Pancake Breakfast and Class Parties Thanks to the PTA and parent volunteers who will come in to make a pancake breakfast for our Panthers on Wednesday, December 19 th. For those who are volunteering we will start at 7:30 a.m. to have pancakes ready for breakfast and class parties at 9 a.m. It will also be P.J. Day for the students and they can bring stuffies. Christmas Shopping at the Rummage Sale Thursday, December 2oth at 9:00 AM The entire school population is asked (if possible) to send in any new and/or used items starting Monday, December 10th. The items will be placed in the sale and may be purchased by our students from all grade levels on Thursday morning, December 20, 2017 ** Proceeds will be donated to The United Way ** An opportunity for the children to buy gifts for family members Your chance to clean out the closets before the Christmas season. Your old junk may be someone s treasure. Suggested Items Books Games Puzzles Toys Cars/Trucks Action Figures Puppets Crayons, Pencils

3 Dolls preferably clothed Baby Toys Ornaments Stuffed Animals Rings, Beads, Necklaces Vases, Flower Pots Items can sell anywhere from 25 cents to $3.00 Please note: It would be appreciated if all items would be clean and in good repair. The following items should NOT be sent in for health reasons: Opened perfume and scented products Used lipstick Clothing Young children should have their money in an envelope, baggy or purse. Please place you child s name on the money container. If you have any donations for this fun and worthwhile event, please send them to the school anytime from December 10 th December 19 th, 2018 Thank you! Christmas Holidays The last day of school is Friday, December 21 st.. It will be a full day for students.

4 PTA VIP Seating for the Christmas There is no fee for our concert. This is just a fun idea from the PTA. You are not required to purchase tickets on this. Please only participate if you want to. Please fill in and return to KPES by Friday, December 14 with payment Reminder tickets cost $2 each or 3 for $5. Thanks for your support.
