1 August Newsletter Vlume LXI, Issue 8 The Fiesta Bee President s Message 1 When I jined the Bard three years ag, I had tw prjects in mind that wuld be a benefit t all the members at Fiesta Gardens Hmes Assciatin. The first was t update the ld Gverning Dcuments frm the 1950 s t reflect updated Civil Cdes that nw gvern hmewner s assciatins as well as t clarify sme f the ld language. The secnd was get a new clubhuse built. In late September 2016, the Assciatin membership received and were asked t vte n the revised Gverning Dcuments fr Fiesta Gardens Hmes Assciatin. In January 2017, the Assciatin cunted thse ballts. While the revised by-laws passed at that time with ver 50% f the eligible membership vting in favr, the CC&R s did nt since they required a super majrity r 75% f the eligible members t vte in favr. This was the third attempt at getting these dcuments passed and it was very clear that due t apathy and ther issues we wuld never get a super majrity t even vte. The nly ther ptin was t petitin the curt t reduce the requirement t 50%. We are happy t annunce that San Mate Cunty Superir Curt granted the Assciatin s petitin and the amended CC&R s are nw adpted by Fiesta Gardens Hmes Assciatin and have been filed with the cunty. The riginal signs we placed needed t be replaced with the weight restrictin signage in rder fr it t be enfrceable. Our PD has already begun enfrcement f these new signs. We've als begun the sight distance evaluatin fr the intersectins n Bermuda. The evaluatin fr Texas and Bermuda has been cmpleted. Once apprved, the adjacent prperty wners will be ntified f the new red curb installatin. After their ntificatin, the curbs will be painted. This is the prcess we'll use fr all intersectins. We shuld be able t d the sight distance evaluatins fr the rest f the Bermuda intersectins next week, and get the ntificatins ut shrtly after that. There has been general agreement f the need fr permitted parking in the nrth area f Fiesta Gardens. Please see the link belw regarding the City's Residential Permit Parking Prgram (RPPP). These are the guidelines the City and residents fllw when applying fr parking permits n their street This dcument is wrth a read t understand what a RPPP wuld mean fr ur streets. It utlines the prcess (which can take mnths) and benefits/impact f permitted parking. The Bard will take the lead t submit frms and begin the prcess. Always watch yur children -- yes we staff the pl with 2 lifeguards, but they are nt nly watching yur children. The pl hurs will remain 12:00 nn until 8:00 pm until mid August and then we will mdify the pl hurs frm 4:00pm t 8:00pm during the week. Bard Members in attendance were: Je D Agstin - President, Rland Bardny - Parks, Carmen Quaresma - Scial Directr, Steve Muller - Vice President, Steve Stanvcak - Pl Operatins, and Rich Neve - Civic. Mike Russell - Pl Maintenance, was absent. : On a mtin duly made and secnded and apprved by all bard members present, the minutes f the May 3, 2017 meeting were apprved. Christina Frrest Reprted that she will be mving FGHA insurance t anther brker and btaining mre cmprehensive cverage. Reprted that the curt case infrmatin fr the CC&R hearing was mailed t FGHA hmewners. The Bard agreed t pay the pest cntrl bill in advance t receive a discunt. t - Je D Agstin Gverning Dcuments there will be a curt hearing held n July 18, 2017 t btain apprval t lwer the percentage f vtes needed t pass the new CC&Rs. The city requires a sil test befre the Planning Department will apprve the building plans fr the new clubhuse. They require this t be dne befre September, r there will be additinal charges. Tw prpsals have been received frm Sils Engineers. One fr $15,000 and ne fr $7,000. The Bard made a mtin t select the prpsal fr $7,000, it was secnded and apprved by all bard members in attendance. The city will require slar fr the new clubhuse. The plan can be submitted t the Planning Department and then installed at a later date. Once the permit has been btained, it will be gd fr ne year. : APPROVED A resident stated that the small pl was shut dwn last year several times due t children having ptty accidents in the pl. Residents in attendance discussed pssible slutins t prevent ptty accidents in the pl, such as: having swim pullups available fr sale, psting signs reminding parents t put swim pullups n their children and putting an article in the BEE. A resident asked what the ttal amunt was utstanding n assessments and when was the Bard ging t attempt t cllect it. - Steve Muller: n reprt submitted - Rich Neve: Reprted that kids using Fiesta Meadws Park fr sccer games have been getting int FGHA Children s Park. They may be respnsible fr breaking the lck n the gate. He wuld like t cntact whever is respnsible fr setting up the sccer games t infrm them that nly FGHA residents and guests are allwed inside the park. Reprted the City s Traffic Actin Plan pssible steps fr FGHA neighbrhd. The Cunty Fair pens this Saturday. There will be a City-Wide Garage Sale n Saturday, July 17 th 8am 2pm. Yu can g t the city s website fr mre details and t sign up. Sewage Tank there is a cntract t rent the Event Center fr the sewage tank, but he has nt heard a status update as f tnight s, bard meeting - Carmen Quaresma: Summer Pl Party: Has been scheduled fr Saturday, July 8, A Tac Truck will be parked in frnt f the pl n Bermuda Drive fr attendees t purchase fd items. The Pl Party will have games and activities fr all t enjy. There will be a parade prir t the Pl Opening at Fiesta Meadws Park beginning at 11am. - Rland Bardny: Reprted that the day-cares currently using Fiesta Gardens HOA s parks have their wn insurance cverage. Reprted that the lck n the Children s Park gate had been brken. - Mike Russell: absent n reprt.

5 The Fiesta Bee Page 5 - Steve Stanvcak: Reprted that a new pl pump has been installed. The wait t receive the new pump tk lnger than anticipated and delayed the pening f the pl by ne weekend. Reprted that he wuld be distributing the new pl bands by the upcming weekend. He reprted that he had been prvided, by Christina Frrest, a list f wners that are nt up t date n their assessment payments. Steve Stanvcak thanked Ernie fr cleaning up the pl area in preparatin f the pl pening. Swim Lessns will be held Mndays Thursdays with the exceptin f the first week f June. Steve Stanvcak answered a questin frm a resident during Open Frum regarding the Bard cllecting past due assessments. He reprted that the first step was btaining the apprval f the new CC&Rs frm the judge n July 18th. He reprted that there is apprximately $116,000 in utstanding assessment dues. There being n further business befre the Bard, the Meeting was adjurned at 7:53pm. Our pl party happened Saturday, July 8 under perfect pl weather and a great crwd.
