PTSO We invite everyone to the PTSO meetings, which meet the first Wednesday of every month from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at BPMS. Our next meeting is Wednesday, December 7th. Come and join us! School Dance The PTSO will be sponsoring a Holiday Dance on Friday,December 8th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. There will be refreshments and drinks for sale. Come join the fun! RECYCLING CENTER: We have great news for not only our local residents but for businesses as well. We want your used toner cartridges for printers, copiers and faxes. This wonderful program will benefit our Library s audio/video collection as well as saving you the time and energy of disposal. Items can be brought to the Library. If you have any questions please call We also recycle used tennis shoes, used cell phones, and newspapers and other paper products. Bring the tennis shoes and cell phones to the library. Campbell s Soup labels may be dropped off in the main office.

5 School Activities After School Maker Day Discounted Books Did you know that you can order discounted books through BPMS Library? This month there are a variety of classics, sets, trending books, and gifts - all below retail price and with no tax or shipping charges! Plus, the library will earn free books and materials! Order by picking up a flyer in the BPMS Library, or online at and use class code MCXVQ. Books make the best gifts - orders are due December 12th! Like to LISTEN to your books? Check out our Playaways, Mp3 players or books on CD. Get a parent permission slip here at the bottom of the page: On Thursday, December 14, from 2:00-3:30 join us in the library to make a pair of touch-screen gloves. Keep your fingers warm while you use your phone waiting for the bus stop or any time outside! You must PRE-REGISTER by December 12. Cost will be $2.00 per pair of gloves. Create-a-Gift Thursday, December 14, from 2:00-3:30 we will create gifts with essential oils for those we love! Cost $5 and you choose 2 items to make--bath scrubs, bath oils.

6 Library News Rebecca Caudill Young Reader s Book Award You make the choice. Rebecca Caudill Young Reader s Book Award is where YOU vote for which book from the list, you think should win the award this year. You must read at least 3 to vote. If you read 6, you are invited to be part of our Battle of the Books team answering questions and competing against other middle schools. If you read 10, you will be invited to the pizza party. If you step up to the challenge and read all 20, we will take your picture and create a poster. Each time you finish, come have a conversation about the book with a library staff member and we will have charts on the wall to track your progress. Help make a soldier smile, when they are far from home for the holidays.

7 Library News Book It! (Read for Pizza) Do you love pizza? Then you should do Book it! Achieve the reading goals set by your Literature Teacher for each month and earn a free personal pan pizza in that month. This will run from October - March. This is only for our 6th grade students. When is the library open? 7:30-2:15 Every day school is in session. Please note that when there are Library Checkout Maximum of 5 items may be checked out at one time. 10 school days (2 week) check-out for books, videos, audiobooks, and back issues of magazines. A one day grace period on returns will apply and after that 5 cents per school day on overdue books and magazines. 50 cents will be charged for overdue videos, audiobooks on CD, Playaways, MP3 players per school day. If you owe $1 or more on an overdue item, no check-outs will be allowed until it is returned and the amount is paid. If any item is overdue longer than a month, the student will be responsible for the purchase price or the return of the book and overdue fines. A student ID is required in order to check out material. School Improvement Days (SIP days) or early dismissal days, we will close when the buses leave. How do I know when my book is due? Come down as a class, get a pass from a teacher, get a lunch pass from the lunchroom aides or during homeroom. Go to: Click on BPMS. Login in the upper right hand corner. Login: student ID@bpd3.org. Password: whatever password you use to log into the computer. Click on My Info.

Pens and pencils? Check out the school Store the next time you need school supplies. The school store is located in the library and open during school hours. They have many items including erasers, binders, note cards, bookmarks, and sport pencils to name a few. The next time you need a school item, stop by the library.
