We are selling the GTB Holiday Savings Card for just $5 and all of the proceeds go back to the PTO!! Present the GTB Holiday Savings Card at Geppetto s Toy Box (730 Lake St., Oak Park) between November 20-27, 2018 (Tuesday-Tuesday), and you ll get 20% off all in-stock purchases! You may visit as many times as you d like during that 8-day period, but you must present the card at the time of purchase to be eligible for the discount. There are two ways to purchase your GTB Holiday Savings Card. Fill out this order form, turn it into the Whittier office with a check (payable to Whittier PTO) or cash and your Card will be delivered to your child s classroom within 48 hours. Purchase the Card directly from Mindy Brimeyer who will be selling them on the playground/blacktop before and after school (weather permitting). 4 TURKEY TROT TIME Dear Families, It s that time of year again! Every November, each 3rd through 5th grader at Whittier School is invited to participate in our Turkey Trot. This year s event will be Thursday, November 15. The trot is after school and consists of a run five times around the Whittier field. Students will meet in the gym after school on Thursday, November 15, and walk down to the field. We hope your child will join us to show school spirit, get a bit of exercise, and have fun. As you may already know, the fastest boy and girl in each grade level will bring home a turkey! All other participants will be entered in a raffle for a turkey, so everyone has a chance to bring home a bird. Please remember that all participants need to be picked up at Whittier immediately after the event. The event will last about 30 minutes. Please return permission slips by Tuesday, November 13. 5 Don t be TARDY To the Party! Our first raffle drawing will be October 31 st! Do you want another chance to win a great prize? It s easy just come to school on time each day during the month of November! Students who arrive at school each day by 8am will have their name entered into the raffle. We will be tracking from October 29 th to November 28 th. We will choose 6 names, one from each grade level, and those students will be called down to the office to choose a prize. Prizes have been donated by our wonderful Whittier PTO. The next drawing will take place on November 28 th.
