1 December 2018 President Steve Griffin Vice-President Mickey Marks Treasurer Penny Ritenburgh Secretary Rose Mary Culp Newsletter Editor Jan Heise December Birthdays: Charlie Green - 12/6 Tricia Green - 12/12 Roger Hime - 12/11 Louise Huntman 12/13 Marie LaComb -12/11 Reba Ward 12/11 Kathy Williams 12/13 December Anniversaries: Our group worked as hosts serving cookies and drinks on Tuesday and Wednesday. We had a table which was manned throughout the rally by all the GTS members present. We sold raffle tickets for $250 worth of gift cards and for a quilt. We also took donations for cards and flags. Combined, we took in over $700 to be donated to our charities. Lundmarks and Ritters visited Boggy Creek, one of our charities, on Friday. Like all of us who have visited there, they were very impressed. Ken & Rosemary 12/6 Bob & Beverly Sims 12/27 Bob & Reba Ward - 12/20 Dick & Dotty Weis 12/2 Cares & Concerns Carolyn Miller is in the hospital with pneumonia. Bob & Reba Ward are both recovering from the flu. Beverly Simms fell and is in rehab. Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers. Our group at the opening ceremony We had teams participating in all the outdoor games, but unfortunately, none of us brought home any plastic winner pins. Florida Fall Rally Southern Palms RV Resort We had a great turnout at the Wild Wild West Good Sam Fall Rally November We had 14 rigs in attendance. One of our two Bean Bag Baseball Teams They had the pet parade which has become a tradition at this rally. This year Roger Hime and Chloe entered the parade. We all cheered them on. 1

2 December Campout Wild Frontier Campground Our December campout was held at Wild Frontier Campground in Ocala, FL December We had sixteen rigs in attendance with additional drive-in attendees. Per our tradition, the chapter officers hosted this campout. Thursday and Friday were days for socializing with happy hours and dinners out. We had a Christmas card exchange on Friday with fun activities and games on both evenings. Roger and Chloe in the Pet Parade At the rally this year we participated in the Wild Wild West Parade. We did not go all out as some of the groups, but we participated and had a nice walk. Blindfolded decorate the tree (Team 2 really won) Saturday morning we held our monthly business meeting. The minutes for the meeting are attached. This was a special meeting with the installation of officers for next year. Wild Wild West parade participants At the closing ceremony we presented the donation checks to those organizations that were in attendance. We also participated in the memorial service where GTS deceased member, Dr. Stevie Weimer, was recognized. Her memory brought tears to the eyes of many of us. Several of our members won door prizes, but none of us were big money winners. 2

3 GTS 2019 Officer Installation ceremony Assistant State Directors, Dale and Phyllis Horn attended our campout and performed our officer installation. The chapter officers for 2019 are: President: Mickey Marks Vice President: Sharon Himes Secretary: Carol Griffin Treasurer: Debby Lundmark The members present all thanked the 2018 outgoing officers for all their hard work: President-Steve Griffin, Vice President-Mickey Marks, Secretary-Rose Mary Culp, and Treasurer- Penny Ritenburgh. They did a great job as officers and also as hosts for this campout. On Saturday afternoon we held our monthly beanbag baseball game. Carol randomly selected teams, and this time she obviously did a good job as she ended up on the winning team Sorry Steve 1-12 associated with a different action (pass gift left, right, open gift, change with anyone, etc.) It was a lot of fun and after three times around all the gifts were opened and everyone ended up with a nice gift. The gift exchange was a lot of fun After the gift exchange we celebrated all the birthdays for the month and shared cake for dessert. The cake not only looked good it tasted good! The winning team Saturday evening we enjoyed a very nice catered dinner, which made it much easier on everyone in attendance. After dinner we had our traditional, very nontraditional, Christmas present exchange. Each couple in attendance brought a gift and then picked a gift from the pile of gifts. Each couple then rolled the two giant dice, with each number Chapter Dues are Due! If you have not paid your dues for next year, this is just a reminder that they are due by the end of December 2018.
