1 GOLD COAST TOUR HANDBOOK You ve paid your tour money, now it s time to pack! Updates The PMPA Gold Coast Tour 2018 Facebook group is the place for updates. Stay tuned and ensure your notifications for the page are turned on so that you don t miss anything. All questions to be posted to this page so that everyone can access answers, please don t the office. Feel free to add family members who are joining us on tour. Rehearsals Rehearsals for dancers will be held every second Sunday in Term 3 from 3pm - 5pm (July 29, 12 August, 26 August, 9 September, 23 September). A final compulsory rehearsal will also be held on Friday 5 October from 4-5pm. Travel & Accomodation NRMA Treasure Island Holiday Resort Brisbane Rd, Biggera Waters QLD 4216 Travel will be at a seperate cost and will need to be arranged by yourself. You may choose to Fly, Bus, Train or Drive to the Gold Coast. Please note that when on the Gold Coast, transportation to and from each of the events is the responsibility of the dance families. We will not be hiring additional coaches to get tour members from event to event. You will receive an accommodation voucher from Travel Innes with your specific booking details approx. 6 weeks prior to travel. All final payments for accommodation due August 10. All performers and spectators fees are now due. Costume, Make up and Hair requirements for performances Hair in a neat high ponytail, secured well with two bands the same colour as your hair. Light stage make up for performances, Pink eyeshadow, mascara, a little bit of blush and red lips. No flash eyelashes or earrings. Costumes will be handed out at the first performance and collected after the Dreamworld performance. Please bring on tour 3 pairs of tan tights. White Big W basic sneakers will be required for the performances as we will be performing on rough surfaces and I don t want to wreck your jazz shoes! See the last page of this document re: shoes. For workshops, dance gear of your own choice may be worn. No midriffs/two pieces. Please note all activities are subject to change. Stay tuned to the Facebook group for any amendments. PMPA Jacket, t-shirt, pants etc. * For Class - Dancewear, Shoes & Tights, no need to wear PMPA uniform, workshop attire of your choice is fine. Please bring hand towel, water bottle, all dance shoes, warm up gear to wear over your dance gear eg. something warm. What will happen: Dancers aged 12 years plus will participate in an afternoon of commercial dance with the Launch Fulltime dancers and faculty. Dancers 11 years and under will participate in two curated workshops with guest teachers especially designed for PMPA dancers. There will be a short break between classes for a drink. PMPA Jacket, t-shirt, pants etc. * For the performance - Please come dressed in your costume, covered up. Tan tights and white $3.50 Big W sneakers. * For after the performance, bring clothes to change into and a costume bag to store your costume in, you will need your costume again tomorrow for the Dreamworld performance. What will happen: Dancers will warm up together in the central performance area and perform their rehearsed show for an audience. Afterwards they will get changed out of their costumes. 5 Friday 12 October 2018 Morning: Performance at Dreamworld Afternoon: Free time at Dreamworld Evening: Free Time DREAMWORLD PERFORMANCE Where to meet: Front gate of Dreamworld What time: 9.30am (QLD time) What time pickup: Dancers must be supervised by parents/carers throughout the day Parent viewing available: Yes * Please wear your PMPA outer uniform to and from the venue eg. PMPA Jacket, t-shirt, pants etc. * For the performance - Please come dressed in your costume, covered up with PMPA gear. Tan tights and white $3 Big W sneakers. Bring spare tights. Come with hair and makeup done. * For after the performance, bring clothes to change into, costumes will be collected at the end of the performance and returned to PMPA together. What will happen: Group photo of all travellers will be taken out front of Dreamworld at 9.30am. Please allow plenty of time to get there. Dancers will then be taken into the park. Spectators will follow in at 10am, we will not start the show until all spectators have entered the park. Tickets for Dreamworld will be given out at the final Sunday rehearsal, it is your responsibility to ensure you remember to bring your ticket to this event and your families and dancers tickets too. No ticket, no entry. Your child will miss out on dancing in the show if they do not have their tickets to enter. Those spectators who did not pay a spectator fee to PMPA in July, will be responsible for their own pass into Dreamworld. No new orders can be made now or up until the day. If you are not entering Dreamworld, you must ensure you have allocated another parent to supervise your child for the entire day. No unattended/unsupervised dancers allowed.
