3 Reminders & Tips: 1. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled on weekends as we get closer to competition. We want all of our teams to have the opportunity to perform their best. Extra rehearsals are scheduled in order to give us the most preparation we can provide. 2. Dance teachers will be providing specific information in regards to required tights, shoes, accessories etc. Don t wait until the last minute to purchase these items. Shoes will need to be broken in. Dress rehearsals will be scheduled. 3. Payments must be received by the stated deadlines in order for your child to participate competition. Due to the high demand in dance competitions, DE s payment deadlines are earlier this year. We want to submit payment ASAP so we can reserve our studio spots in each of these competitions. 4. It is crucial to be one time for all competitions. Arrivals times for each competition will provided as soon as they become available to us. Sometimes DE receives those times just days before the competition. Arrival times will be given out at the studio, posted on our bulletin boards, on our facebook page and website. You need to be in full costume and make-up at the time given to you. Groups will meet to stretch and go over any last minute instructions. 5. There are no refunds for not performing due illness/injury, etc. 6. All DE students are expected to wear their DE jackets and/or pants to the competition as well as during the awards ceremony. Remember, you are representing all DE teachers & the Entire Studio. 7. Superior sportsmanship is expected at all times by students and parents at all competitions. We at DE pride ourselves on our reputation for being great sports and friendly and encouraging dancers. 8. days can be long. Pack plenty of snacks and water. Be sure to get a good night s sleep the night before. There may be breaks in between performance times and awards in which students may leave with their family, HOWEVER, ALL STUDENTS MUST BE PRESENT FOR AWARDS. 9. Parents are permitted in dressing rooms, however are NOT permitted backstage. 10. Pack your bag the night before and double check that all costume parts are packed. Pack extra tights in case of rips, lots of bobby pins, safety pins, double sided tape etc. 11. While watching the competition, please do not leave in the middle of dances. Wait until a dance ends to leave the auditorium. This applies to students and parents. Student/ Parent Time to Shine Expectations :. Here are a few guidelines to follow to make the year and competitions run smoothly. Please arrive 1hour prior to scheduled time or performance. The dancer(s) will be required to warm themselves up and practice on their own. Please check yourself in backstage 5 numbers before you need to go on. Teachers may or may not be present at all competitions. If you wish to watch your judges critiques, you must schedule a private lesson ($30 per half hour) or ask to use the ipad during a class that is not your own. Costumes can be ordered through Dance Express for a normal costume payment. You may also have the option to order them on your own as long as the teacher has approved it.
