1 Ashwaubenon Dance Invitational Judge Bio s Judging Numbers based of 2017 WACPC Dance Judge Bios WACPC - Judge #1 Amanda Sura Amanda has 27 years of dance experience, including 15 years of studio dance. She choreographed for junior high and high school, earning nine state titles in a five-year span. She served as the Dance Judge Coordinator and Board Member for the state of Wisconsin. Amanda has traveled to Australia and all over Europe as a student ambassador leader, supervising students all over the country as they explore the world and are exposed to new places and cultures. She has also served twice on the pom panel at USASF Dance Worlds. WACPC - Judge #9 Emily Stuebs Emily has over 25 years of experience in studio dance and dance team, as well as collegiate dance and musical theatre. She has taught music and dance to all age levels. She is a former member of the Aquinas Dance Team, UWEC Concert Dance Company, UWL Kinesis Dance Company, Lady Spartans Dance Team, and Grand River Singers Show Choir. She currently lives in central Wisconsin where she continues her involvement in the arts through teaching private lessons and involvement in the local community theater. She has been a judge in Wisconsin for 12 years, and is excited to see all the talented dancers today! WACPC - Judge #16 Megan Rudolph I danced on a state and national award winning division 1 dance team all four years of high school. After high school I danced for The Green Bay Blizzard Arena football dance team. I also went back to my alma mater and coached for two years where were won numerous state and national titles. I have been judging for the past 6 years and love staying involved in dance as much as possible. WACPC - Judge # 17 Stephanie Rudolph I spent all four years of high school on a local D1 dance team where we won numerous regional, state and national titles. I also danced with UW-Green Bay s dance team, and then with the Green Bay Blizzard dance team as while coaching for them as well. In addition, I spent two years coaching a local D1 dance team where we won both state and national titles. Currently I am a Middle School teacher in the Howard-Suamico area, and enjoy staying involved with dance as much as I can. WACPC - Judge #22 Bonnie Hittman Bonnie Hittman has over 20 years of dance experience specializing in hip hop, jazz, and pom. She spent four years on an award winning varsity high school dance team, dancing at various national events, and traveling to dance at Disney World. In college, Bonnie began a dance program at a southern Wisconsin high school and coated them to many awards. In 2007, she began judging the art of dance, and is a WACPC trained judge. She has judged various events such as: JAM, Regional s, State, WACPC All Star, Watertown Spirit Invite, Homestead Spirit Classic, Milwaukee Bucks Competition, Lakefront Dance Classic, Ashwaubenon Dance Invitational as well as various conference competitions and dance audition events. Bonnie continues to take workshops and classes in ballet, jazz, and tap. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and an Associate degree in Sports Management. Bonnie instructed hip-hop, jazz, pom, ballet, and performance groups at a ballet school in Southeastern Wisconsin for 10 years; she currently substitutes as needed. Bonnie is a Store Director of a luxury retail store in Wauwatosa, WI. She has a five-year-old daughter named Abigail.
2 WACPC - Judge #28 Elizabeth Powers Elizabeth has been involved in dance and Dance Team for over 27 years. She was a member of her Nationally award winning High School and College Dance teams and had her first taste of coaching as coordinator of the UWSP cheerleaders, dancers, and mascots her senior year. Her final two years of college, Elizabeth danced on 2 semi-professional dance teams as well. Upon graduation, Elizabeth coached and choreographed a well-known Wisconsin Team for 6 years and stayed on as choreographer for 4 more earning 5 State Titles, 3 Grand National Titles and countless top 5 finishes. She stepped down from that position in order to open her own studio with her sister Elizabeth is currently the Co-Owner and a Director of Dance at the Power Of Dance All-Star Studio in Green Bay, WI. She currently teaches dance classes for students ages 2-adult, is a coach and choreographer for each of their 10 All Star Teams, conducts technique and private lessons, choreographs solos and ensembles for all ages, and is hired out as a technique and summer camp instructor throughout the State of Wisconsin. Elizabeth continues to train and take classes in dance technique and teaching methods and has presented at the WACPC coaches conference. She has choreographed National award winning routines in pom, hip hop, jazz, contemporary/lyrical, and high kick. Her more recent and prestigious honors include: UPA National Dance coach of the year, nominated for Who's Who of U.S. dance directors, UPA National Coaching Hall of Fame, WACPC Coaching Hall of Fame, DX Coaching Hall of Fame, IEP Coaching Award, numerous National Championships at the Tiny, Mini, Youth, Junior, and Senior Levels, Worlds Qualifiers from , Top 10 Worlds Finalists from Power Of Dance was a top 3 Finalist as the USASF National Dance Studio of the Year in WACPC - Judge #34 Tamara Sterwald I began dancing at the age of 3 and have more than 30 years experience with dance. I have been a studio dancer, studio instructor, choreographer and was owner of Kaleidoscope Dance Studio in Manitowoc for 12 years. I have attended many national conventions and had the opportunity to take classes in a variety of styles. My studio teams have attended numerous regional and national dance competitions and won several awards. I have been coaching a middle school dance team for the past 10 years. and I am entering my fourth season as a judge. I have a B.A. in public relations from Auburn University. WACPC - Judge #40 Kelsey Swanson Kelsey has many years of dance experience and has trained at various studios. Her high school team was consistently in the top five at state in different categories, including one pom state championship. After high school, Kelsey went on to dance for her college team and was voted captain her sophomore year. Her college team received multiple awards, including both a national championship and judges choice award for pom. Kelsey has assisted various varsity teams with choreography and technique/skills sessions. Currently, Kelsey lives in Sun Prairie and works as a social worker in child protective services. WACPC - Judge #42 Kali Clark 2 years high school dance with Watertown, 2 years college dance with UW-Platteville, 2 semesters of dance class at UW-Stevens Point, coaches Waupun JV and assistant coach to Varsity between , currently taking dance classes at Dance Dynamics in Plover, WI. WACPC - Judge #43 Denise Bodart Denise first became interested in dance as a member of her high school show choir and cheer squad. She was a member of her college dance team at St. Olaf College. She received a BA in Fine Arts (Dance, Music, Art and Theater) from St. Olaf College. Denise has worked at the Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts in Los Angeles. She has taken tap classes at a local studio, En Avant for the past eight years. Denise is a Senior Product Manager for an educational technology company in Eau Claire. She has been a WACPC certified judge for the past 7 years, judging dozens of local, regional and state competitions.
3 WACPC - Judge #48 Megan Bodart I have been in dance for 20 years including studio dance and dance team for 4 years. I have been judging for WACPC since I have judged all over the state. One of my favorite memories involving dance was performing at the 2008 ProBowl halftime show. It was very exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time. I am currently a registered nurse at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and judge on the weekends for fun and to stay involved with dance. WACPC - Judge # 52 Kirsten Phillips Kirsten has over 15 years of dance experience including studio, high school, and collegiate levels. She was a 4 year member and 1 year captain of an award winning competitive high school dance team. Through her college career, she competed and assisted with chorography for the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point Dance Team. Kirsten was awarded MVP by her peers on both high school and collegiate dance teams along with various other excellence awards. She graduated in 2013 from of the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. She works as an Interior Designer at an architectural firm in Green Bay, WI. Kirsten has been a WACPC trained judge since WACPC - Judge #58 Megan Tyson Megan started dancing when she was 7 years old for a competitive dance studio in Appleton, WI. She danced there for five years until she was a freshman, that is when she became a member of her high school s varsity dance team. Megan s high school dance career lasted from and she had the opportunity to dance at the WACPC State Dance Championship all 4 years. Her team competed mostly in Pom and Kick, however, enjoyed performing Hip Hop and Jazz for fun. Megan started assisting in choreographing parts of competition routines when she was just a sophomore. To this day, Megan still has a very special interest in choreography. She also enjoyed competing with her friends in duets and small groups at the Little Chute Dance Invite. In 2011, her high school team took 5th place in D4 Pom at the WACPC State Competition. In 2013, when she was Senior Captain, her team earned Eastern Regional Pom Champions. Megan was voted Team Captain, best leaps, best jumps, and most likely to be a future dance coach during her last year on the team.. In 2015, Megan began working at New Attitudes Dance Company and she started assistant coaching for her old high school team. In 2016, she became Head Coach and she choreographed all of their competition routines (Pom and Jazz). She also helped her dancers in choreographing solos and duets. Megan has now stopped coaching, but still enjoys being apart of the dance world by judging competitions. This is Megan s third year as a WACPC Dance Judge. She currently lives in Chilton and works as a Medical Assistant for ThedaCare. She hopes to one day coach high school dance again. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, eating good food, spending time outdoors, hanging out with her cat, Lily, and watching old & new dance videos. WACPC - Judge #64 Katye Charlier I have over 28 years of dance experience. I have been a dancer since the age of 5yrs old, a twirler since age 8. I danced the Nutcracker with Shirley Van Studio/St. Norbert College. I placed in talent and congeniality in Miss Wisconsin. I've been an instructor in dance (tap, jazz and ballet) for over 15 years and I have established and coached the Seymour High School dance team I have choreographed musicals both in MN and WI. I am a judge for the Miss America Foundation. My passion is dance and painting; both give me the freedom to express myself. My philosophy in dance competition is that every team needs to be judged for their performance at the specific competition that they are competing in. Not based on their past or the future prediction. "Leave no regrets on the floor". I have been a WACPC certified judge for 5 years and recently renewed my dance license.
4 WACPC - Judge #65 Mari Fedie Mari Fedie has been a WACPC certified judge since Her judging experience includes both State and Regionals along with many other Wisconsin competitions during the season. Before becoming a competition judge she coached a middle school dance team for 6 years where the team took home many 1st place trophies including State and Nationals. Dance has always been Mari s passion and she stays involved in it. She taught ballet, jazz and tap at a studio in her younger years and was a high school cheerleader. Mari has three daughters all who had danced on their high school teams many years ago. She loves to help teams perfect their routines by giving lots of feedback and focuses on the things that will help the teams improve and do well at competitions. Mari loves to dance herself and you can always find her on a local dance floor. WACPC - Judge #69 Dorinda Gustke Dorinda started dancing at the age of 3. By the time she was 12, she began to teach at the studio she grew up in. At age 15, Dorinda started her own studio and 35 years later, never looked back. Dorinda prides herself on providing a positive and safe dance environment that also pushes students to be their very best. She believes that no one sits the bench in her studio. Dorinda s Dance Studio offers Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Technique and Kids Krazy Cardio. WACPC - Judge #73 Michelle McChesney Michelle began dancing at age 6 when she started taking dance classes at 5,6,7,8 Dance studio. She grew up dancing 4-6 hours a week where she mainly studied pom and kick. Michelle was a member of the Adams-Friendship Middle School Dance Team where she mainly danced in the areas of pom and hip-hop. During high school, Michelle danced on the Adams Friendship Varsity Dance Team for 4 years where the team won numerous regional and state rankings in kick and pom. Michelle served as the captain of this team from Michelle served as a dance instructed for 7 years where she choreographed for, taught, and coached dancers ages Throughout college Michelle enhanced her dance knowledge by taking college dance courses. Michelle became certified by WACPC as a dance judge in August of Michelle received her Bachelors of Science from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay and is currently attending the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh to obtain her Master s Degree in School Counseling. WACPC - Judge #81 Danielle Dreher Danielle Dreher has been dancing for 10+ years and coaching for 5. She danced on the Martin Luther High School Varsity dance team for 4 years with a team that went to State and Nationals each year. They have won multiple regional, state, and national title rankings in pom and jazz. Throughout her individual high school career she placed in the top 5 overall in many solo leap competitions at Nationals. She went on to dance on the UW - Whitewater Dance Team as well as played on the Acrobatics and Tumbling Team at Concordia University Wisconsin. She is currently studying Human Resource Management and has been working at her internship as the HR Intern for 1.5 years. She continues to coach and to choreograph many competition solo and team routines, along with taking classes at local studios. She loves dance and is very honored to be here! WACPC - Judge #90 Sam Kwaterski Danced at a local studio since I was 3 till 8th grade. Notre Dame Academy dance team all 4 years of high school captain senior year. Taught dance classes in Eau Claire while in college. Coached West De Pere for one year and De Pere for two years.
5 Judge # 100 Lauren Griffith I started dancing when I was three years old and am trained in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, contemporary and hip hop. I danced at Barbs Centre for Dance growing up all the way through high school where I competed at a national level. I also was on Ashwaubenon High School dance team my freshman and sophomore years.
