2 Club Update Page 2 Great Gatsby: Interested parties can attend a showing of the Great Gatsby at the Arvada Center on May 13. Supper at Applebee s will precede this event which will support the Columbus Day Parade. Mount Saint Vincent: Our club has helped with yard work at Mount Saint Vincent, which provides a safe home for severely traumatized and abused children. We will meet at 9 for a pot luck and then we can tour their facility (4159 Lowell Blvd, Denver, CO). Annual Busnardo Memorial Bocce Tournament: Sal is arranging this bocce tournament on May 31 at Mickey s to benefit Caruso Charities. Originally sold out with 16 teams, we are increasing the number of teams to 24. See page 5 for more info and application. Italian Club Picnic: The picnic will be June 29 at Fairmont Park 52nd and Quaker. We discussed a raffle for a charity to assist the military. Mike will bring this up to the Presidents Federation. Murder Mystery Dinner Dance: We are planning to hold this on Saturday Oct. 25 at Sons of Italy. If you want to help with this event, please let Mike know. It was a great event last year and should be even better this year. Fiori d Italia merchandise: is still available. Contact Sandra at for availability, pricing and to place your order. Wheat Ridge Carnation Parade: We hope to have our boat ready for the Wheat Ridge Carnation Parade on August 16. Fiori Christmas Party: This will be held on December 6 at Clements Community Center in Lakewood at 1580 Yarrow St.

MEMBER NEWS: Congratulations to Lucia and the Bocce team Italian Pride, who won 1st place at our tournament! Frances and Angelo enjoyed their mystery vacation in South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida (not North Carolina). Note: If you have any news you would like to share with club members in the Newsletter, let me know before the 10th of the month. (italian_pat@yahoo.com). No current member has a May Birthday. Happy Un-Birthday to All Speaking of Birthdays, I talked a little to Lucia after our last meeting. 4 Page 4 Community Calendar of Events Columbus Day Parade, Columbus Day parade and festival will be Oct 11, Route will be the same. On May 13th, you can participate in a breakfast fundraiser at Applebee s, 5265 Wadsworth Bypass. Flyer is on page 6. Nominations are being accepted for Starter, Italian of the Year (1 male and 1 female), King and Queen, Prince and Princess (ages 8 to 14). Rocky Mountain Senior Olympics Bocce Tournament: Sandra and Chris are co-chairing. This will be held June 4. Cost is $20 per person. A team can be 2 persons 50 and older and 2 persons younger. Cost includes breakfast and lunch. Sandra will have applications soon. Sons of Italy Golf Tournament. Denver Sons of Italy is having their annual Golf Tournament on Monday June 16. For information contact Fred July 3th Rockies Game with Fireworks: Barbara Pietrafeso has tickets available for the July 3 game and fireworks show at a reduced price of $25 a ticket. If you are interested, let Barb know by July 1. Her is barb@coloradosownrealestate.com and phone number is Guinness International Champions Cup. International soccer clubs Manchester United and AS Roma will square off at the Broncos' home stadium on Saturday, July 26 as part of the Guinness International Champions Cup. Tickets are available at Ticket prices range from $34 to $134. Denver Sister Cities Italian Tour.
