Emily calls this meeting to order at 5:00pm Ice Breaker UPAC o How much do you think you need? o Toilet paper rolls and facts about yourself. Name that Tune o Sister Christinan by Night Ranger o Ashley Beaird guessed half of it, so she gets a half of point. Guest Speakers o No guest speakers Special Events On-Campus We have Spin Magic next Wednesday. o Just to put it on everyone s radar. We are not going to make it a mandatory event. They don t need a lot of help for spin magic, but we would love for everyone to be there. It is going to an extra point and everyone should wear his or her shirt that day. It will be from 11-3pm and we understand you have class so just come when you can. College Class Clowns o Four college boys who are comedians for college kids. They will perform all at different times. o This is a video of just one of the guys but they all say different jokes. o They want to come in January on Saturday the 31 st. Show would be at 7:30pm and doors would open at 7pm. o They cost $1,500. o We like how it is four different people because if people are bored in the first 10 minutes they usually leave during a comedian. o We like how they are our age because it is nice to have people with the same humor as us. o Brooke makes a motion to host Chicago Class Clown Comedians January 31st, 2015 starting at 7:30pm, doors opening at 7 in Somsen Auditorium spending no more then $1,500. o Seconded by Liz o Discussion: That price includes travel and everything. o Motion passes with 1 abstaining.
Special Events Off-Campus Valleyscare Friday o Bus leaves at 4pm. o If you have any questions with Valleyscare let Emily know. $3 Bowling o Doors are opening at 11pm instead of 10:30pm. Hopefully it won t be an issue. o Westgate Bowl is on 61, by El Patron/Culvers. o Jobs Doors checking WSU ID/ Tickets Selling tickets at the doors with Megan Lane check making sure pop pitchers are filled Crowd control o Encourage your friends to wear costumes for the contest. o Sign-up sheet is being sent around and will be in the office all week. o Arrive at 10:45pm to work. o Is there still a UPAC lane? Yes Concerts Ticket sales 278 left Prof sign up o Jobs: Doors: standing by the doors, looking tough, and making sure no one gets in. Selling tickets: If we don t sell out we will have tickets selling there. It will be outside of the door entrance to East Hall. Stage: Make sure no one is going on the stage. Crowd Control: make sure everyone is having fun in a safe way. Checking tickets at the doors: Rip the ticket Wristbands or stamps on people. If they are getting hot or dehydration. Watch the Merchandise table. WE CAN T SELL ANY MERCH! o We will hopefully have some campus security guards there. o Please sign up for at least 3-4 slots. o Production load in 2-4pm, we will let you know when it is confirmed. o Hospitality is another job, but we are going to draw wall of fame people. It is more of a popular job. o Make sure we have enough people at doors, tickets, and wristbands. Looked in to acts for the orientation concert. Two different options that have got back to him and were good. Looking into Thursday August 20 th, o Tripwire 4 guys From Minneapolis/Twin Cities Upper 20 year olds
$3,500 including production and just need a stage. They will play for 2 hours like Johnny Holm Band. Mostly top 40 hits and some older songs. o Good for Gary Both videos they get the crowd going 7 people total, have a girl singer A lot of instrumental people From Minneapolis/ Twin Cities $4,500 including production and just need a stage. o Johnny Holm was $4,100 with Production. o Good for Gary does sing too, not just rap. o Do they interact with the crowd like Johnny Holm Band did? They interact with the crowd, but not sure if they bring people on stage. o Having a girl in Good for Gary might make it go over smoother. Having a girl gives them a wider range of songs too. o Good for Gary seems like a lot more rap verse a mixture. o Some people think that Tripwire sounds better. o We could try to put an offer on lower on Good for Gary and see if they accept a lower offer. o We shouldn t let the price determine whom we choose. o Vote: Tripwire: 22 Good for Gary: Much more. o Gabby makes a motion to bring Good for Gary on Thursday August 20 th, 2015 for Orientation week show starting at 7:30pm, spending no more than $4,500. Seconded by Liz Discussion: We will try to get Tripwire if Good for Gary doesn t go through. Motion passes with 2 abstaining. PR Print Whiteboards are updated with Prof information on them. Grocery Bingo poster are being hung up later this week. Chalk for homecoming events later this week. We will have the chalk out on the table during the office. There will be a slip of paper saying what we need to chalk. o General chalking rules Be 20ft from the doors. Not on a wall hang, has to be on the ground.
PR Tech Thanks for sharing Prof event and tweeting about it. Make sure to share the other events so we can get a lot of people to them. Like Spin Magic because it is going to be hard to get people. Ideas for prizes from App o Computer science club are nervous that they are going to put all this hard work in to the app and then no one will download it. o They suggested a thing like foursquare and then when they check in we could do a prize of some sort. o Keep doing the prizes through out the semester so everyone keeps the app and not just downloading it for the prize. o How often are you thinking about giving away stuff at events? More frequently during the upcoming events but after awhile just once a month. o Suggestions for prizes: Bookstore item An extra card for grocery bingo. Free tickets to other events. o How many specific sites of social media are we on? The more it is directed to one social media the better. If students see that we are constantly posting on multiple social media sites they may ignore more because it is always showing up when they check the sites. Just something to keep in mind. Accounts Total: $68, SE On: $10, SE Off: $3, Concerts: $4,500 PR: $2, AD: $1, Assistant Director Wall of Fame form last week was Jenaya Tarman for helping stamp the UPAC stamp and writing numbers on all 600 tickets for the homecoming concert. Carmel apple bonding on Sunday! o It will be in Minne 110 at 1 pm. Keep signing up for Up Til Dawn. We are getting a lot of people! If you didn t sign up on the sheet being sent around last week then come talk to Brittany.
Director Called about the clothing order, haven t heard anything yet. Got 2 unanswered phone calls. If it comes in this week, we will give it out in the office. Homecoming parade o Minions theme We were thinking about creating the Gru car around a real car. Dress up as minions around the car. Yellow and Purple minions UPAC symbol instead of Gru symbol on the overalls. We would love for someone to be Gru, Margo, Edith, and Agnes. So let Emily know if you are interested. It is going to be super fun. Joe/Tracy Tracy/ Annie: o Homecoming events next week: Medallion hunt is only going to be on the Facebook page this year. The clues will come out 8am. $50 if you find it. Monday: Free hot chocolate at 11-1pm in the gazebo. Homecoming Coronation at 7:30pm in Somsen Auditorium. Cheer on Alex and Erica at coronation.
