1 Gold Duster Dance Team Contest at The Village Jersey Village High School 7600 Solomon Street Houston, TX Director, Courtney Nelson Assistant Director, Marilyn Simmons Dear Directors, On behalf of Miss Dance/Drill Team Texas and the Jersey Village Gold Dusters, welcome to the Contest at the Village! We are delighted to be serving as your host school for this new and exciting competition sponsored by Miss Dance/Drill Team Texas. As you enter Jersey Village High School, you will be greeted by many happy parents in bright orange shirts as well as Gold Dusters in grey and purple jerseys. Please do not hesitate to let us know if there is something now or on contest day that we can do to help you! We will be offering gym practice time beginning at 7:00am on Saturday. If you would like to reserve a 15-minute practice time on the floor, please me with your school name and first and second choice times. With only eight available times, these will be recorded on a first come first served basis. 2 Contest at the Village General Information Time: Address: Directions: Ticket Sales will begin one hour prior to first performance. Jersey Village High School 7600 Solomon St Houston, TX From 290: exit Senate Ave, travel North on Senate Ave; turn east on Singapore Ln. This will take you straight into the front of the school. From the Sam Houston Toll Road: exit W. Gulf Bank Rd.; turn west on W. Gulf Bank Rd.; turn north on Solomon St. The school will be on your right hand side. Team Entrance: Team Admission: Chaperones: Prop Drop Off: Teams should enter the school via Congo Ln. After dropping off all passengers, buses should park in the parking lot immediately adjacent to the bus circle drive. See map for details. Dance Team members (which includes: dancers, escorts and managers), registered Directors and Assistants, will be permitted to enter free of charge at the team checkin area. Escorts and managers must wear official uniform and must be present with the team checks in. Each team will receive three (3) complimentary tickets upon team check-in. Please distribute them to your bus drivers, chaperones, prop parents, etc. Please inform your parents that admission is $10. The entry fee for children 5 years and younger as well as senior citizens is $5. These additional tickets can be purchased at the Entrance at the front of the school. Prop drop-off area is located on the tennis-court side of the school. See map for details. Admission: Entrance is at the main entrance of the school. $10.00 Adults; $5 Children (ages 5 and below) Parking: Concessions: Located at the front of the school on Solomon Dr. Available on site. No outside food or drinks will be permitted.

Judges Area: Top row, center of bleachers. Performer Entrance: Back left door of gym. (judge s perspective) Performer Exit: Back right door of gym. (judge s perspective) Floor Surface: Regulation basketball court with volleyball markings. Results: Awards ceremony will follow solo finals. Judges Area: Center of the Auditorium. Performer Entrance: Through Black Box Theater, entrance through courtyard. Right side. (judge s perspective) Performer Exit: Left or right side. (judge s perspective) Floor Surface: Wood floor. Results: Awards ceremony will follow solo finals in the main gym. Evaluation packets will be available for pick up following the awards ceremony. 6 Miss Dance/Drill Team Texas & Jersey Village Gold Dusters Contest at the Village Cleaning Fee Agreement Form Group Name: Director/Responsible Party: While hallways will be monitored throughout the day, security of personal items is the responsibility of the participants/group. Please adhere to the following guidelines regarding classrooms used as dressing areas: 1. No males will be allowed in the dressing areas or adjoining hallways; unless they are registered with a team. 2. Absolutely no food or beverages of any kind to be open and/or consumed in the classrooms. 3. Please do not write on classroom boards or disturb classroom items. 4. Should anything be broken or a spill occur, contact a Jersey Village representative so that we can address the situation quickly. 5. We request that classrooms utilized as dressing rooms be cleared of all personal/group item by the start of the Awards Ceremony. For individuals involved in solo finals, please make arrangements to be clear of the rooms at this time. Periodically representative from Jersey Village High School will check dressing areas to make sure that the guidelines are being followed. Damage to classroom items or situations required excessive cleaning or replacement will result in the assessment of a fee based on the damage.
