1 Clubs & Activities

2 Student Council In Student Council, we organize spirit weeks, participate in community service events, and plan pep rallies. Student Council provides an opportunity to socialize with people from different grades We also visit Hilltop to help with Kidscare during lunch We get to know what happens at Mountain View before everyone else!! Advisor: Ms. Nelson

3 Favorite Memories - We got to organize the Senior Citizen luncheon - We traveled to Hilltop to talk and make cards for veterans with the younger students - We get to host pep rallies!

4 Forensics (No! It s not the one about SCIENCE!!) Join the fun as we compete in speaking competitions around Morris County!! NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!! Throughout the year we will meet and practice our presentations(excerpts for books, poems, scenes from plays and improvisation) and then travel multiple times during the year to other middle schools for fun and exciting competitions. We enjoy the competition, but we also enjoy getting to know other students from around our county!! Advisor: Mrs. Dean

5 Junior Solar Sprints Junior Solar Sprints offers students an opportunity to learn by means of friendly competition against their peers where students take responsibility for the design, construction, and performance of a model solar electric vehicle. Open to all students. Advisor: Mr. Damato

6 Lego Robotics The club will focus on programming, engineering, and robotics. By combining Scratch programming with Lego robotics kits, students will design, program, and engineer functional physical objects that address real world issues and situations. Open to students in grades 6-8. Advisor: Mr. Sheridan

7 Math League Open to students in all grades, work on challenging math problems in preparation for New Jersey Math League Contests in the spring. Advisors: Ms. Wood, Ms. Huang, Mrs. Ascione

8 Mock Trial Open to 7th and 8th Grade Write a case for entry into the Law Adventure Mock Trial Program Debate current events Field trip to New Jersey State Bar Foundation Perform case for judge or serve as a jury Advisor: TBD

9 Outdoor Learning Center The Outdoor Learning Center is an outdoor classroom for all Mountain View students and teachers located in the courtyard between the two wings of the building. Its flowers provide year-round color and beauty. Its vegetables and herbs provide fresh food for nearby food pantries. We welcome all volunteers to help plan, plant, harvest, and work to keep the entire space looking its best! It is not necessary to come to every meeting. Just bring a smile and we ll provide the tools and gloves! Advisors: Mrs. Dodge, Mrs. Magrini

10 Poetry Club Do you enjoying reading and writing poetry? If so, the poetry club is for you! Join students in grades 5-8 in this creative and inspiring club. Advisor: Ms. McCaffrey

11 Talent Show/Musical Open to students in grades 7-8, the Musical and Talent show occur on an alternating, bi-annual basis. Whether you are interested in performing, directing, or set design, all are welcome to join! Talent Show advisor: Mr. McMurray Mountain View presents Guys & Dolls

12 Yearbook Do you enjoy photography, editing, design, and writing? If so, the Yearbook club is for you. Join students in grades 5 thru 8 in helping to create a lasting memory for the Mountain View community! Advisor: Mr. Dragon

13 International Cuisine Master the many techniques that will help you create your own culinary masterpieces. From soufflés to soups, knife skills to gnocchi, spices to sauces, learn all you need to be the chef in your very own kitchen. Advisor: Mrs. Dean

14 Morning Open Studio All students (whether or not they are currently taking an art class) are welcome to come to the art room for Morning Open Studio. The studio opens every morning at 7:45 and no appointment is needed. Students may choose to work on an art class assignment, work on an art component for another class, or develop an art project for independent study. Students are guided through their practice; however, there will be no formal group instruction unless there is a special project to pursue. All artists are encouraged to explore, experiment and have fun creating art.

15 TREP$ The TREP$ Program is open to students in grades 5-8. Start your own business in 6-8 weeks! Learn lessons in the 6 weekly workshops, and apply them at home to build your business with the help of your family. The whole school community comes out to enjoy the TREP$ Marketplace, held right at the school, where young entrepreneurs launch their businesses together. Advisor: Mrs. Dean
