If you are interested in this position, please send an to Ms. Pilarski. We absolutely need someone! SCRIP Corner: There are still quite a few families that still owe a balance on last year s assessment. Second notices were sent home last week. If you did not get one and want to know your balance please call the office or send a note to the scrip office. Please pay your balance ASAP!! Going to buy your spring flowers this weekend? Pick up some gift cards to pay for them! We have Home Depot, Lowe s, Wal-mart, and Kmart!! Giant Eagle is offering 20 cent fuelperks right now on gift cards. Congratulations: St. Mary School alumna Caroline Maltese was recognized with the Indiana University of Pennsylvania's College of Natural Science and Mathematics Scholarship and the Stockholm Junior Water Prize/Water Environment Federation Award at the Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair (PRSEF) March 27-28, 2015 at Heinz Field. Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera Tickets: The Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera Guild has purchased season tickets to be given to students and their chaperones or to give to senior citizens. The CLO wishes to give the tickets to children and young adults ages 8 and up. The CLO would like to broaden the student s life experiences and foster a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts. The CLO also wishes to give senior citizens an opportunity to enjoy outstanding professional theater in Pittsburgh. The programs are on Sundays at 2:00 for the following dates: June 21 Mary Poppins July 19 Gypsy August 2 The Wedding Singer All performances will take place at the Benedum Center, 719 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA Tickets will arrive two weeks before the performance and must be picked up at the school office. Requests for tickets must be made in writing to the school office by May 22 nd. Please include the performance you wish to attend and the number of students, adults and senior citizens that will be attending. Box Tops For Education: It's time for our last Box Tops Contest for the school year! Attached are 2 examples of a Box Top Collection Sheet. Feel free to use another collection sheet if you have your own or find one online. Only Box Tops glued or taped to a collection sheet will count towards the contest. Bonus Box Tops can be submitted but should be stapled or paper clipped to the collection sheet. The homeroom that turns in the most Box Tops wins donuts and juice in their classroom. The last turn in date for the May Contest is Friday, May 22. Please check your Box Tops because expired ones will not count. Thank you!
3 Summer Tutoring: Math and Reading assistance is being offered by 2 teachers at St. Mary s School this summer beginning the week of June 8 through July 31. If you are interested having your child tutored, please contact Mrs. Mroz at lpmroz@comcast.net or (412) for Math tutoring and Mrs. Poznik (412) for Reading services. Schedules will be confirmed by May 31. Target Thanks a Billion Campaign: A parent passed this on to us. Before you say farewell at the end of the school year, say thank you. That s the message Target s sending to students and parents everywhere with its Thanks a Billion campaign, which invites guests to honor rock star teachers for all their hard work. As part of the social campaign, guests are encouraged to share a message of appreciation through Target s Facebook page or the Thanks a Billion website, honoring a teacher who has made an impact on their life. When a guest submits a note of gratitude (certain terms & conditions apply), Target will donate $25 to the teacher s school with the opportunity for each school to receive up to $25,000. But here s the best part: Target won t stop until it s given away a grand total of $5 million.
