1 Volume 4, Issue 2 November 2012 Please be sure to visit our LNHS Men s Lacrosse web site for team communications, game scores, news and updates. Inside this issue! Presidents Pen 2 Our new sponsors 3 Operation Christmas Child 4 Senior Spotlight 4 Coaches Corner 5 Apparel Sale 5 State Championship Ring N C H S A A M E N S L A C R O S S E S T A T E C H A M P I O N S Wow.has our Fall Ball season flown by. The Booster Board was overwhelmed with the participation that our high school program had for the off season. Over 67 boys participated in the Fall program allowing us to field 3 teams for all events. Fall Ball was a great success! The Varsity team had a very successful run as they won championships in Rock Hill and Wilmington and went undefeated recently at a Pfeiffer play day. We appreciate the efforts of our 2 off-season coaches and the dad s that gave up their time to assist on the sidelines. We see a very bright future for lacrosse at Lake Norman High School. Our practice field is looking good! Thank you to all of the parents and players for your help with our Lake Norman High School Wildcat Lacrosse Boosters annual fall field maintenance day back in September. The participation by the boys and girls lacrosse programs was outstanding and the job of pulling weeds, over seeding, and filling in holes was accomplished in record time!!!
2 Lake Norman High School Wildcat Page 2 President s Pen Get ready for Polar Bear. We have over 65 boys registered. Schedules should be out sometime in early December. Stay tuned for more updates! We just finished another very successful fall ball season where we won both the Rock Hill and the Wilmington Tournaments. This is really impressive but the more impressive stat is that we had over 65 high school boys sign up and play fall ball lacrosse and continue to work out as a team. I am very encouraged by our participation and we have another 65 plus boys sign up for Polar Bear. It is very important to keep sticks in your hands and continue to improve your skills and work as a team. One of our responsibilities as a board and as parents is to raise funds for our High School Lacrosse program. With out funds we are not able to support such things as lacrosse trips to Virginia and Atlanta, purchase goals, balls, nets and maintain our practice fields, keep good coaches, support end of year banquets and senior night. All of these take money and support from our lacrosse community. Please send us any ideas you have for fund raising and please take part in whatever fund raiser we come up with for our spring season. People make the difference and I know all of you will make our LNHS Wildcats Lacrosse program better. I wish all of you and your families a Very Happy and Safe Holiday Season!! Thank You again for your support. Scott Gradert President LNHS Wildcats Lacrosse Boosters The 2012/2013 LNHS BOOSTER BOARD The all volunteer board is ready to serve our coach and team in raising funds, field maintenance, helping with team communication and planning for the upcoming season. Please help the new board throughout the year as we try to make our program goals a success. Scott Gradert Denise Holher Darrin Plaisance President Vice President Treasurer Volunteer TODAY! Sportsmanship in my mind is showing respect for coaches, teammates, opposing coaches and teams and also the referees. 2. What is your personal goal for the upcoming season? My personal goal for this upcoming season is to make it to the play offs and hopefully win the state championship game. 3. What is your favorite thing to do when not playing lacrosse? My favorite thing to do when not playing lacrosse would have to be hanging out with friends and family. 4. What is your favorite lacrosse tradition and why? My favorite tradition as part of the Wildcat team has got to be checking the practice plan at the beginning of each regular season practice with coach Brugger to make sure I approve of everything that is scheduled for that day.
