2 Grayslake North High School Summer Sports and Activity Camp Program June 5th July 27th All students between the ages of six (6) and (18) years of age are welcome to participate in the Grayslake North Summer Camp Program. Please read this brochure in its entirety before making your selections. All of the programs will be held at Grayslake North High School except for bowling and golf. The locations for bowling, girls golf and boys golf are listed on their individual pages. If you have any questions regarding the programs offered, please contact the: Grayslake North High School Athletic Office At , Ext Summer Camp registration is available online at Please check the Grayslake North High School web page for registration updates and the link to the registration site. The web address is Click on Grayslake North High School and then click on Athletics to be directed to the page. When registering for your camps, payment can be made either by electronic check or credit card through the registration site. You may also pay your camp fees by check, or cash in the Athletic Office. Registration will be open on January 11th. Registration will not be accepted without payment. If you pay by check in the Athletic Office, please complete the registration form on GNHS Athletics web page. Do not give registration paperwork to the coaches. Please deliver all paperwork to the Athletic Office if not registering online. We encourage campers to attend all dates of their selected camp(s). If there is a conflict (i.e. summer school, vacation, or multiple interest in camps) with attending all dates please contact, in advance of registering, the coach listed in the Summer Camp brochure. Fall Sports Night will be Monday, August 6:30 PM. The first day of Football will be August 7th. The first day of tryouts for all other sports will be on Wednesday, August 9th. Fall sports are: Fall Cheerleading, Cross Country, Football, Girls Golf, Boys Golf, Fall Dance, Boys Soccer, Girls Tennis and Girls Volleyball.

4 Grayslake North Knights Baseball Summer Camp Information High School Camp (Incoming 9 12 Grades) Cost: $85 When: June :30am Noon 5 Sessions Where: GNHS Varsity Baseball Field *This camp will be run similar to a high school practice. *Cost includes a camp t shirt. High School Summer league (10 12 Grades) Cost: $100 When: June 12 July 20 Games Mon Thurs afternoons, Friday mornings Where: Home and Away games *Players may be assigned to certain days of the week to play summer games. *Players are responsible for transportation to/from all games including away. *We will also have practices prior to selected games for all players. *Cost includes a shirt to be worn for summer games. Youth Camp (Grades 2 8) Cost: $85 When: June :30pm 3:30pm 5 Sessions (No camp Sat/Sun) In the event of school running into this week due to weather days, we will have make up dates the week of June 13. 7 Summer Camp Information for Bowling (Co-Ed) Where: Lakes Bowl, Round Lake, IL When: Thursday nights, 6:00-8:30 starting June 8th - July 13th Who: Bowlers entering 7 th grade through high school Cost: $ includes T-shirt Participants will receive one-on-one instruction, videotape analysis, and specific drills tailored to their strengths and weaknesses in addition to competitive league bowling. What would a typical night look like? 6:00-7:00 instruction, videotaping, skills and drill work 7:00-8:30 league play (2 games) Coaching staff will consist of area coaches from Grayslake, Round Lake, and Vernon Hills To Register for Camp Online with Payment in Full: 1. 8 Our program is made up of a Freshmen, JV, and Varsity team. We cheer for all freshmen, sophomore, and varsity football games in the fall. In the winter we cheer for all home freshmen, sophomore, and varsity games for the Girls and Boys basketball program. Our Freshmen, JV, and Varsity teams are competitive and compete in multiple competitions throughout Illinois in the winter season. Parent/ Athlete Informational Meeting : Monday, April 3rd at 6:30 pm in the Cafeteria Tryout information will be distributed at this meeting. A tryout packet MUST BE COMPLETED before you will be allowed to participate in clinics. We have one tryout for both fall and winter cheer..tryouts Dates: Clinic- Monday, April 10 th : Clinic- Tuesday, April 11 th : Clinic- Wednesday, April 12 th : Tryouts- Thursday, April 13 th : 7:00-9:00 pm in the Field House 7:00-9:00 pm in the Field House 7:00-9:00 pm in the Field House 4:00 pm until finished Clinics: All athletes trying out will be taught a sideline cheer, a dance, and the school fight song. Athletes will also be scored on their jumping, stunting and tumbling abilities. Summer Practices : Summer practices will be throughout the months of June and July. These practices are HIGHLY encouraged! Most of the sideline and homecoming material for the upcoming season will be taught at this time as well as strength and conditioning. 9 Cross Country Summer Camp June 12 th through July 27 th Monday through Thursday 7:30 9:00am Cost: $110 Contact Coach Zaluckyj with any questions: Whether you are just beginning to enjoy running or have been running for a long time, come join us!! Make your summer conditioning work more enjoyable by joining with other runners who are looking to improve. Don t forget to drink water and eat something light before your workout!! Cross Country Practice begins August 9th No camp on 4 th of July!! Take the opportunity to run in a local 5K. Sign up early!!
10 Head Coach: Keeley Thode JV Coach: Carolyn Gaffke GNHS has two dance teams, a Junior Varsity Team and a Varsity Team. GNHS Dance is a Fall and Winter Sport. The Varsity Team performs at halftime for home Varsity football games and girls and boys home Varsity basketball games. They also compete in 6 competitions. The JV Team performs at halftime for home JV football games and home Sophomore girls and boys basketball games. They also compete in up to 6 competitions. Parent/Athlete Try Out Informational Meeting: Monday, April 17 st at 6:00 pm in the Cafeteria Tryout information will be distributed at this meeting. If unable to attend this meeting, an informational packet will be available in the Athletic Office. A tryout packet MUST BE COMPLETED before your child will be allowed to try out for the Dance Team. 13 GRAYSLAKE GIRLS GOLF SUMMER CAMP 2017 WHO CAN ATTEND: All incoming 7th-12th grade girls who will attend GCHS or GNHS Cost: $85 Camp Information: Grayslake North and Central high schools have a combined girls golf team. This camp will give girls an opportunity to come together as a team and prepare for the upcoming season. The camp will focus on swing basics, long and short game, finding club distances, and course management. Days 1, 2 and 4 of camp will be held at the driving range, and days 3 and 4 will be held at Brae Loch golf course. 14 Summer Soccer Camp - High School Summer Camp $ for both Session 1 $100 June 7:30am 9:30am (T, W, & Th) Session 2- $100 July 7:30am 9:30am (T, W, & Th) Youth Summer Camp (entering grades 5-8) $75.00 July 9:30am 11:00 am (Monday - Thursday) The coaching staff of the Grayslake North Soccer Program offers soccer camps that allow grade school and high school soccer players the opportunity to train and condition throughout the summer. All athletes will improve upon their fitness, while building technical and tactical soccer skills in a fun and competitive environment with current and future teammates as well as some alumni from the Grayslake North Knights Soccer Programs. The high school camp will come with a t-shirt to each camper and prizes for attendance, improvement, performance, and more. 16 BOYS and GIRLS Tennis Summer Camp Dates Session 1: June 12th thru June 15th (M-TH) Advanced: 7:30 to 9:30 ($75.00) Intermediate & Beginner: 9:45 to 10:45 ($45.00) Session 2: June 19th thru June 22nd (M-TH) Advanced: 7:30 to 9:30 ($75.00) Intermediate /Beginner: 9:45 to 10:45 ($45.00) Advanced Open to experienced 7th / 8th graders thru 12th grade. Players should have experience or had previous lessons and know basic stroke development and scoring. Players should be able to follow drills and directions well. Intermediate-Open to 6th-9th grade for inexperienced players who have had no formal lessons, have very little knowledge of the game and have little to no stroke development or needs help building better endurance, stamina and power. This is a great camp for middle school aged athletes or freshman entering high school or brand new players. It s a great way for new players to learn more about the sport. Beginner Mighty Knights will be open from 2nd thru 5th grade for inexperienced players who have had no formal lessons, have very little knowledge of the game and have little to no stroke development or needs help building better endurance, stamina, and power. NOTE: Your child may be asked to switch camps depending upon their abilities and times may be altered due to poor weather. That may include later start times., afternoon sessions or Friday morning. Camp includes one t-shirt per athlete. Summer Camps: We highly encourage any tennis player to take summer camps. Camps help to improve stroke development and knowledge of the game. We need help selling wearables, working concessions, and event planning. Contact North Boosters at for more information. The proceeds from the items they sell go directly back to Grayslake North High School to support our programs. As always, thank you for supporting the Grayslake North Athletic Program. Parents please remind your children to protect themselves with sunscreen and always bring a water bottle to help prevent dehydration during our hot summer season. Please remember to begin hydration before coming to camp when it is going to be very hot and humid. Please do not send athletic sports physicals to summer camp if your child will be participating in high school sports. These sports physicals need to be handed in to the Athletic Office during your child s proof of residency check, which will be scheduled during the summer. Please check the website for scheduled walk in proof of residency dates. Coaches will not accept sports physicals during summer camp.
