8 Celebrating Volunteers Volunteer Dinner & Volunteer of the Year The Lemoore Police Department and the Lemoore Recreation Department honor those who volunteer their time and talents throughout the year by hosting a Volunteer Dinner. This is our way of saying thank you to our neighbors and friends who help make our community a safe and fun place to live. Over 250 volunteers work with these two departments during the year. 9 Phone: (559) Volunteens Sponsor a Volunteen with a generous $250 donation Volunteens are youth age years of age. They are the unsung heroes of the City of Lemoore s Summer Day Camp. Volunteens help keep camp enrollment fees low and gain valuable volunteer and employment experience in return. Volunteens provide approximately hours of service-learning per week (over nine weeks) and are provided with a $200 stipend by a sponsoring business, community service organization, or private charitable donation. $200 of your generous donation goes directly to the Volunteen and $50 covers field trip expenses, training, and uniform fees. 10 Tot & Pre-School Lemoore Recreational Dance Throughout the session students will be taught basic ballet techniques which include the five feet and arm positions. They will learn how to use these positions to develop ballet movements. These movements will be put together to music to create dance. Participants will also learn basic jazz steps and styles. Children will also learn how music plays an important part in dance. Each session will include a dance performance. *umes are an additional fee. No exception on age groups. Each four week clinic develops fundamentals including dribbling, passing, and shooting. Sign up before the deadline. Space is limited. 14 Superhero Summer Camp Give your child a Superhero Summer to remember. Every Friday is Superhero Dress up day and carnival. Camp is an all-day program, 7 am to 6 pm, with breakfast and lunch provided by KCAO Food Program. Camper may also bring their breakfast and lunch if they prefer. Camp activities include arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor sports, movies, water slides, lesson rotations, picnics, reading program and a weekly field trip. Our friendly staff member are CPR and First Aid certified and are looking forward to spending a safe and fun summer with your child. The Lemoore High School Pool is closed for renovations this summer, but we will keep your child cool with other water activities. Optional Days: If Lemoore Elementary School District starts in the middle of the week, camp will be open for the extra days until school begins. $20 per day. 20 Youth Enrichment Hot Shots Air Rifle Hot Shots Air Rifle begins with a safety class for all participants to ensure that guns are handled properly. Students will also learn the three basic shooting positions of marksmanship. Guns and materials provided. Open shooting is also available. 21 Phone: (559) Youth Enrichment Guitar Lessons Learn to play guitar with Charlie Ennes who attended Master Classes at Commune di Firenze in Florence, Italy. A fun environment that anyone can enjoy! Beginning Guitar Lessons Learn to play guitar. Discover what playing guitar is all about! If you have never played the guitar or can play a little and want to learn more, then this is the class for you! You will study proper techniques, melody, harmony and some sight-reading. Participants must bring their own guitar. First Aid/CPR Learn how to save someone in an emergency and add a valuable skill to your resume. Upon successful completion, participants will receive American Red Cross certifications in First Aid and CPR for adults, infants and children. Course also includes Automated External Defibrillator certification. 23 Phone: (559) NEW Tennis Lessons Spring Tennis Camp Learn the game of tennis over Spring Break. We have everything you need. Balls and racquets provided. 5 to 7 year old class is one hour and 8 to 12 years is 90 minutes. Instructed by LHS Tennis Players. Summer Tennis League This is a three week league for children 8 to 12 years of age. They will receive instruction on Tuesdays and play matches on Thursdays under the guidance of our instructors. They will learn scoring and rules of the game. On occasion there are teams that are a person or two short, or there are individuals looking for a team to play for. That s where our Free Agent Program comes in! If you are an individual looking for a team, register as a Free Agent! Just tell us which sport you prefer, what your ability level is, and we will construct a team made up of free agents. Professional DJ, light shows, dance contests and a game room make these dances one of the most popular events offered by our department. All dances are lock-in children are not permitted to leave the dance until the dance is over. No gang affiliated clothing. School ID is required for all dances. 64 Reservation Policy (Parks) Alcohol Vehicles Water Features Condition Heritage Park 661 Hanford-Armona Rd. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in City parks without an approved permit submitted to the Community Services Director Vehicles are prohibited on city parks. Water featured bounce houses or slides are not permitted without permission from the Community Services Director Park reservations guarantee a place within City of Lemoore Parks, they are not a rental of the park itself. While all provisions are made to maintain them, the condition of parks and facilities cannot be guaranteed for your reservation. Heritage Park offers a covered pavilion that seats 100. This pavilion is divided into 4 sections, each section holding 25 people. You may reserve one or all of the sections. This park has lit basketball and tennis courts, a softball backstop, outdoor volleyball, a children s playground and horseshoe pits.
