2 SUMMER READING 2012 The Kansas City Public Library wants to partner with you on your reading adventures this summer. Reading during the summer is not only fun, it helps you maintain your current reading level so that you are ready to pick up where you left off when you get back to school in the fall. It is simple to start: Sign up for the Summer Reading Program at your Library to receive a reading log. Use your reading log to track the time you spend reading. Visit your Library to get a reward for every 3 hours that you read. Read for 12 hours to complete the program and earn a book plus other prizes. Let the Library and our Dream Big Read! theme guide your reading all summer long! Summer Reading Events Paul Mesner Puppets Presents: Paul Mesner Puppets tells this tale of with a contemporary flavor. Babaloo: A Manic One-Man Kid-Rock Band Award-winning songwriter Rob Compton rocks the K-5 set with a one-man musical comedy act that calls for kid participation in the form of shouting, singing, stomping, and bean-bag popping.
