4 Ronald McDonald House Charities Grissom is once again collecting pop tabs to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities! The pop tabs are recycled and sold for scrap metal. Last year, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana raised more than $40,000 from this program. A collection box will be in the Commons for your donations! 5 And the Winner Is..! This year s statewide Rebecca Caudill winner has been announced! A Night Divided, by Jennifer A. Nielsen took top honors. Students at Grissom chose Orbiting Jupiter, by Gary D. Schmidt as their winning title. Don t forget.you can still take Caudill tests for prizes through Friday, April 6th!

6 Spring Forward! Daylight Savings Time begins this weekend! Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed Saturday night!

7 Grissom Gives Back Tickets for the Grissom Gives Back fundraising volleyball games are available now for $3 in the Media Center. The games will be played on Friday, March 16 th at 5:30 pm here at Grissom. Tickets will also be sold next week during all lunches. A limited number of tickets are available. Don t miss out! All proceeds go to the Kirby Educational Foundation.

13 Track Tryouts Tryouts for Track will be on Tuesday, March 20 th and Wednesday, March 21 st from 3:15-4:30 pm for all runners. Shot put tryouts will be held the week after Spring Break on Thursday, April 5 th. Permission forms are in the rack outside the Main Office. See Mr. Rumbaugh, Mrs. Ryan, Ms. Jordan or Ms. Senkpeil if you have any questions.

19 SWIC All-Conference Team Congratulations to Nathan LaPlant, Elijah Laws and Sean Monahan! They were chosen for the 2018 SWIC AllConference Basketball team!!

20 Boys Basketball Congratulations to the 6 th /7 th grade team on a great season! They will be playing tomorrow for 3 rd place in the Conference tournament. The 8 th Grade team plays in the Semi-finals tonight! Good luck Patriots!!

21 Crayola ColorCycle Students and teachers will soon be collecting used markers (any brand!) to be converted into clean fuel. This fuel can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals and more! Boxes will be located in the Commons. The Crayola ColorCycle program can keep tons of plastic out of landfills each year! 25 Water Bottle Filling Station Challenge Last year Grissom Patriots saved over 6,600 plastic water bottles from ending up in landfills by using the water bottle filling stations throughout the building. Please remember to use these instead of plastic bottles. So far this year, we ve saved 7,049 bottles from landfills! The image part w the file.
