6 PTG Meeting St Mary's School October 7, 2015 I. Welcome Prayer II. Old Business a. Oldies Night- Everything is ready to go. We need everyone's help promoting this event to make it a success. The food is being catered at a great price. There will be 10 really nice raffle baskets as well as a 50/50. Suggestion to get 8th graders to volunteer Contact the Faith Formation office about having high school volunteers Advertise on Craigslist, in other church bulletins, local Facebook pages Ask permission to sell tickets at the church breakfast this Sunday after mass. b. KidStuff Books 69 books were sold. The profit is currently $ We still need a few books returned. c. Santa's Workshop December 16, 17, 18. Times will be announced in November. Parents can sign up to volunteer by using sign up genius. More info will be coming soon. d. Fitness Fundraiser The gym is hard to secure. A suggestion was made by Cari Katz to use Providence Hall. Marina is ready to go for holding Zumba classes. Yoga is being put on hold for now. e. Shoparoo We collected 17,000 points in just 5 weeks. Please sign up and add your receipts. The more people we have using it, the more points we earn. f. Wrapping Paper Fundraiser We will be doing a Inisbrook Catalog fundraiser. Marina suggested doing a Pie sale before Thanksgiving Joe Corbi Fundraiser will be this winter g. Drive For Kids Applications need to be submitted before January We're hoping to have this for Family Night in May. h. Smencills - Smencills are "scented pencils" and they a huge hit with students. We will be selling them at different events through the year including the Santa Breakfast. i. Replacement for St. Mary's Rocks Cash Bash? 7 Marina Mangerie is going to several fundraising events this fall. She is going to see how they run and we can possibly have a similar event in the spring. Can we get a corporate sponsor for an Auction? If we have an auction one suggestion would be to use bidpal. III. New Business a. Tea Fundraiser October Shop Tea online, you get 15% off, we get 15% and free shipping b. Amazon Fundraiser This is an easy way to make some extra money. Families would shop from our specific referral link and we would get a percentage back. It will take a while for families to get use to shopping on Amazon from our referral link, but once it catches on we can make a great profit. c. Restaurant Nights Lisa Genton has planned these. Pasquale's Pizza night was a success even though the weather was bad. Applebees is coming up on October 15th. d. Candy Grams Nikki Blackburn has offered to coordinate these for certain holidays. Mrs. Riegelnegg said we can only do it if the candy is sent home so that students who aren't participating do not feel left out. e. Sarris Chocolate covered pretzel rods. We will not be doing this because SMAA does a similar fundraiser in the spring. f. Shop N' Save S.E.E.D. program This program allows our school to have free assemblies from the Pittsburgh Zoo, Carnegie Science Museum and more. St. Mary's earns points from purchases made at Shop N' Save. In order for St. Mary's to receive points from your purchases you must enroll your Shop N' Save Perks Plus card online or at customer service. Our school number is 312. More information will be in the newsletter. IV. Any other comments or suggestions? Lisa Genton would like to do a Jamberry Nail and Mary Kay fundraiser. The Mary Kay fundraiser would earn our school 40%. Lisa Genton found a Lowe's Grant for fixing something in a local school. Mrs. Riegelnegg said keep your eyes open for any grants and resources like that. Many companies and businesses run similar programs throughout the year. If you hear of any please let her know. Meeting was adjourned at 7:30 pm October 2, 2015 Page 7 of 20
