2 Best Child Rider Award Daniel & Frances Harwood Memorial Best Child Rider Award A perpetual trophy made annually to the child rider demonstrating the best all-around horsemanship as determined by our judge. Each rider 17 years and under who chooses to participate will be provided a special arm band allowing easy identification by the judge; the armband should be worn in each class in which the rider competes. This award will not be based on total winnings, points accrued or number of classes entered. Instead, the award will be based on any criteria, objective or subjective, the judge finds appropriate. His/her evaluation of the riders, may include a written test, brief personal interview of the top contenders and may also include the casual observation of riders outside the show ring. Three riders will be chosen from each Hunter show and the rider with the highest score over all of the Hunter Shows will be awarded the trophy at the end of the year.

Mrs. Buckley has over 30 years of training and coaching experience from the beginner to advance levels. She is a certified USHJA Trainer. She currently serves on the Northern California Hunter Jumper Board and is the Chair of the NorCal Medal Finals. As a licensed USEF judge, she enjoys judging USEF competitions as well as Intercollegiate Horse Show Association and (IHSA) and Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) competitions. She has had the privilege of judging regional finals for both ISHA and IEA and enjoys the opportunity to speak with competitors and provide any helpful advice.
