4 Yoga Hockey Ultimate Warriors Basketball Academy (UWBA) UWBA Skills Training: Grades 1-8 Superior basketball training that combines proven techniques from various coaching methods and multiple brain-friendly best practices in education and sports. The focus is to teach the three essential skills in basketball - shooting, dribbling, and passing - and how to use them in game situations. UWBA Mini-Basketball League: Grades K - 8 Players receive professional basketball training with a focus on the three essentials skills in basketball - shooting, dribbling and passing - and learning how to use them in game situations. Players implement techniques into various styles of team play. Jersey and coaches are provided. UWBA Mini-Basketball & UWBA Skills Training Combination: Grades 1-8 Players will participate in skills training on Tuesdays and play on Saturdays as described in the two options above. NOTE: After school basketball with Coach Ivan Romero will begin the first week in February on the following days: Wednesdays (Grades 3-5), Thursdays, (Grades PK4-K), and Fridays (Grades 1-2). Registration will open January 18, Street Hockey: Grade 4-8 Street hockey is a contact-free activity where players develop their hockey skills while also improving their hand-eye coordination and overall athleticism. Coaches will focus on basic skills such as passing, shooting, and stick handling through team drills that promote team work. Active Play Yoga: Grades K-2 Students gain body awareness and learn techniques for managing stress, focusing attention, listening, and expressing themselves all while having fun with yoga poses, stories and games. Mindfulness Yoga: Grades 3-6 Students will have fun with creative movement, learning various styles of yoga and spending time crafting, playing group games, learning relaxation techniques, and journaling. Cheer on the Faculty or Students along with the Corbett Prep Middle School Cheerleaders. Cost: $48.00 Price includes dinner and a Sports Faculty Challenge t-shirt. On Monday, January 15th and Thursday, January 18th, one of the Middle School Cheerleading Coaches, Vickii Johnson and Cheerleaders will teach cheers, chants, stunts and dances to our groups. Then, on January 19th, the day of the Student/Faculty Sports Challenge, students can go home after school and come back to Gatlin Hall at 5:00 to get ready for the game. They will be supervised through dinner (included in the price) at the Pavilion. At 6:30 they will sit with the Middle School cheerleaders to watch the volleyball game. At 7:30 they will perform in the pre-game show and cheer at the Basketball Game! The yearbook staff will be documenting the special people and events of this school year so that all of us are able to remember it for years to come. Now it is your turn to create a personal memory in the yearbook. We are offering you the opportunity to preserve a special photograph or drawing, offer congratulations for a great year, say thank you to a teacher/coach, advertise a business, or show your Corbett Prep support by placing an advertisement in the yearbook.
