Unlicensed Contractor s may expose you to potential financial harm for any injury that may occur on your property. If you want to repair or improve your property without a required Building Permit you may: DON T FORGET TO VOTE, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 4 AT THE UNIT 4 CLUBHOUSE Not be fully insured against fire or damage to those improvements. Hinder the transfer of title upon future sale of property. Be required to pay more than double permit fees and be required to bring to current codes. Florida Statute consumers (homeowners) who hire unlicensed construction contractors could face a fine of up to $5000 for Aiding and Abetting Unlicensed Contracting. See the Contractor Licensing information for Pinellas County at As now a past member of the Board, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for all the support and confidence that was so graciously given to me during my term. The job as Secretary is very demanding and becoming more legally problematic as time moves forward. Please continue to support YOUR VOLUNTEER board and show your appreciation for all the hard work they give and the time they sacrifice to make our community a great place to live. Laura Smith-Weyl 1
