2 The 6 th Grade Dance The 6 th grade dance is coming up, and we would love for you to come! There will be music, snacks and drinks sold for 50 cents to a dollar. It is $5.00 to get in. Make sure you remember your student I.D! The dance begins at 6:30 P.M. and ends at 8:00 P.M. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes! Remember the dress code! There will be a professional D.J. playing great music. His name is Mr. Walsh, a P.E. teacher at East Dover. Last year, about 200 kids came to the 6 th grade dance, and we are going to try and get MORE kids to come this year. So, if you have time, stop by and dance. We hope to see you there!!! 3 Hi, Kaitlyn Avalone and Makayla Bird recently wrote an article on Back to School Night. They asked their parents what they thought. Kaitlyn s parents thought it was a great idea. They thought it was a good way to know what she and her class was learning. It was also a way for them to meet her friends parents. Now,back to Makayla. Her parents thought it was very nice and they loved meeting her teachers. Does anyone have Miss Ritoto for Spanish in C19? Well,then you know her or will meet her. Makayla and Kaitlyn recently interviewed her to learn what a teacher thought about Back to School Night. She said: It is always a pleasure to meet the parents. We are able to share the many ways to make learning a language easier,and it is a very informative time for parents and teachers. Now,did anybody receive a candy gram? I know I did. What are they you ask? Well,they are nice notes you write to your child that get stapled to a bag of candy you bought them. They were available to buy during Back to School Night. 4 Page 4 I interviewed a new student in 6 th grade who came from Walnut Street Elementary. She likes Intermediate North. At school, she enjoys lunch, Gym, and Science. She enjoys Science the most because she likes to do experiments with potions. She has one brother. For fun, she likes to play outside and play lacrosse. She likes to play lacrosse in gym class. Can you guess who she is? Written by Isabel Gurrere Interview with Mrs.Hoatson Samantha Duncsak and Jake Hager Mrs.Hoatson is the Language Arts teacher for the eighth grade s cycle 82. She is an outstanding teacher that likes Halloween colors, the Harry Potter series, writing. When she was younger, she wanted to be Ernest Hemingway. She loves everyone that she works with and more. Mrs.Hoatson has been a teacher for three years, two with the Dolphins and hopes for more. She loves her job and enjoys being a teacher. If she was not a teacher, she stated that she would become a writer. Mrs.Hoatson has only two rules in her class respect and be respected. She wants her students to gain more self-confidence when they leave her class. Her students would describe her as crazy (in a good way, though). She is also the school play director. Last year she directed Wonderland and this year s play will be her second play. To learn more about this year s, listen to announcements in November.

5 Halloween Pg. 5 By: Caitlin Sia Trick or treaters are coming near. Now I know Halloween is here. Ghosts, goblins, and many more, are coming here, right to my door. Giving away candies and treats, to little kids under white sheets. Orange, red, and yellow leaves, are falling down on kids dressed like thieves. The moon is full covered by some clouds, As a big group of kids go to my neighbor s house. Finally Halloween has come to an end, As kids go home to sleep on their beds. All I can say is goodnight, and sweet dreams without a fright!

8 Page 8 Six Quick Facts about Mrs. Milo by Toni Lane Mrs. Milo has been working at TRIN for 33 years. She recommends websites on her e-board They change from time to time. Mrs. Milo has been buying informational texts for the library for the past 3 years. Before working in the IMC,she was an eighth grade science teacher. She enjoys both teaching and being the librarian. Some of her favorite books are The Hunger Games, Divergent, anything by Lois Lowry, Harry Potter, and any book in a series.

9 The 76th Annual Toms River Halloween Parade was a huge success. It is the second-largest Halloween Parade in the world, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. It was the perfect October night, with mild and dry conditions for viewing. Thousands of all ages gathered in downtown Toms River to watch this year s parade. Every year more and more people attend. The Toms River Intermediate North Marching Band and Squads, under the direction of Mrs. Desmond and Miss Bolcato, showed Dolphin Pride as they played and marched to This Is My Country. Great job Dolphins! The event was sponsored by the Toms River Fire Company No.1. Bagpipers from all over the area kicked off the one-mile parade. The bagpipers were followed by the other Toms River intermediate and high school bands. There were many floats throughout the parade, big and small. Some of the floats included zombie rock bands, Minecraft, and there was even a Ghoul Bus. There were decorated antique cars, cheerleaders and dancers. Also, there are were Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Girl Scouts. Bringing up the rear were the ambulances, fire trucks, and finally, the police officers. -Casey Shepherd

10 Girls Field Hockey Team There are all new things this year for the six graders, one of these many things is sports. There are many to chose from but just one of the sports that s really great is the girls field hockey team. It s a great way to meet new friends and work together to win! The girls practice almost everyday and work hard every one of those days! They have amazing games and always work hard even in tough defeats. They keep their heads up high and work together the best they can to achieve their goals! Being on the girls field hockey team is not easy ;you need to be dedicated to the game and responsible for rides. If you are determined to play and try your best, you will be great on the team. So, if you re a sixth grader looking for a sport that is fun and active consider playing for the girls hockey team some time! By Tunney
