1 Annunciation School Newsletter Annunciationbvm.org March 8, 2017 Dear Parents, The next few days are very busy for our Annunciation community. We have some exciting upcoming events Tomorrow 3/9 is our OPEN HOUSE from 9:00-11:00am and 5:30-7:00pm. Thank you in advance to our parent volunteers and teachers who will help with tours for prospective families. Remember to spread the word about Annunciation and receive a break on next year s tuition (see last week s newsletter for info). Our 7 th and 8 th grade girls basketball teams will play in the AURORA CITY OF LIGHTS tournament championship game tomorrow night 3/9 at 6:00pm & 7:00pm at West Aurora High School. Let s pack the gym to cheer on our Lady Vikings! Annunciation is proud to present Aladdin this Friday 3/10 and Saturday 3/11 at 7:00pm in our school gym. Our junior high drama group has been working hard on this production for months. See you this weekend for a great show!! Uniforms have been an important part of Catholic education at Annunciation for decades. Uniforms create school unity, lessen distractions in the classroom, and promote discipline. Earlier this year, the Education Commission, led by Father Patrick, has approved exciting changes to our dress code/uniform policy. All of the changes outlined below will NOT be mandatory until the school year; therefore, families will have over a year to prepare for these changes. However, children may begin to wear the new uniforms next school year if they so choose. The changes to the dress code are as follows: BOYS will switch from Oxford shirts to LIGHT BLUE POLO shirts with logos. Polos offered in short or long sleeve. The polos should be better for the boys in the warmers months and when untucked will provide a much neater appearance. K-5 GIRLS will switch from white blouse to WHITE POLO shirts. Polos offered in short or long sleeve. If they are worn under the jumper, they do not need a logo. If they are worn with the shorts, they do need a logo. 6-8 GIRLS will switch from white blouses and vests to GREEN BANDED POLO shirts (short or long sleeve). These polos have a waistband that sits over the skirts for a comfortable, neat look. Vests will no longer be required. K-8 BOYS & GIRLS can wear Navy quarter zip sweatshirts with logo. We will allow the current sweatshirts, too, but will no longer be selling them. I hope to have samples of the polos and ¼ zip in the office soon. Sincerely, Mrs. Jennifer Wardynski, Principal The new Fiberlock uniform LOGO design is a patented Dennis exclusive (gray background for display only).
