Minutes from FSA meeting February 9, 2016, 8:00 a.m. - Leadership Room The meeting was called to order at 8:07 a.m. by Tracie Platt. Seconded by Padra Meyer. Prayer led by Padra Meyer. Officers Report: Recent deposits: Sock hop-$ / for DJ Bizarre Entertainment-$833 Chipotle dine and share-$ Innisbrook-$ Box Tops Faculty Report: Diane Mier

BOX TOPS: Jill Maher The next Box Top Competition has begun. All Box Tops need to be turned in by Friday, February 26th. We will need volunteers grades 5-8 for counting box tops on the afternoon of February 26th beginning at 3:15pm. We are asking grades 2-8 teachers to have students check expiration dates and count box tops in bags of 50 during their free time before handing them in on February 26th. CULTURAL ARTS: Patty Murawski Had the "Very Funny Magic" with Dennis DeBondt on Wednesday, February 3 rd. Had three separate shows. Monday, 1pm & 2pm (2 shows, K-4 an 5-8) -- "History of Dance from Ballet to Breakdance" April 29 will be the Rope Warrior. He will do a show and then separate workshops. HOSPITALITY: Emme Higgason (Tennyson) Hospitality during Catholic Schools Week went well. Based on the event this year, I made a few notes regarding scheduling and ordering for next year. And thanks again to all the volunteers and FSA committee members who helped ensure the event was a success! RESTAURANT FUNDRAISING: Padra Meyer Chipotle raised $473 We sold a lot of SCRIP cards. McDonald s McTeacher night will be February 17, Wednesday. 20 teachers will be volunteering and have many parent volunteers. We will receive a case of 240 pies that will be sold at $2 a pie. We will receive 20% on the flyer food sales that evening. Poms squad will perform. Ronald McDonald will be in attendance. Next one we are looking at Buona Beef in March. SOCK HOP: 6 TH grade should be included in Junior High Dance, not Sock Hop next year.
SPECIAL LUNCH: Nothing to report SPRING SALES: Julie Cowen and Sureiya Peshek Spring sales with Yankee Candle will be March 28-April 8th. This will guarantee delivery for Mother's Day. We should be getting the flyers in next few weeks. TEACHER APPRECIATION: Shelia Kalck Teacher Appreciation Social was Thursday, February 4, from 3:30 to 5:00, Hor dourves and drinks. Sent 55 invitations. 33 attended. We did a spa theme. Each teacher left with a succulent as a gift. Gave away five mani/pedis. Overall the event went well. Had the wrong tables set up in the community room. Spent $ Up-to-date have spent $1700. Will do a small desk drop in the spring. TRIVIA NIGHT: Nicole Henning We are happy to report Trivia Night was a success! 17 Tables comprised of a variety of grade levels, including 2 early childhood tables, as well as parents of former students, parishioners and one alumni table. Total Table Revenue $3, /50 proceeds Mulligans Bar Proceeds 4.00 Total Revenue $4, Expenses: Winning Table - $200 donated back Pizza (44.58) Pop/ice (22.55) Prizes (AMC 2*$25) (50.00) Total Expenses (117.13) Net Proceeds $4, % return
Feedback was positive! The overall theme of A Night at The Movies was well received. The payment process is limiting registration why? Some captains did not want to be paying up front for a whole table. However, Committee chairs should not have to track and determine payment assignment if couples were to pay individually on BuyNow,GiveNow. Yes, BuyNow, GiveNow limits the handling of cash but delays the registration process especially for non parishioners. Timing will likely always be an issue. January is a must if Easter is early so as not to compete with Fish Fry, Lent, or Gala. Is fall a better time? Can (2) Trivia Nights mean fewer fundraisers? The Alumni table suggested this could be a possible low key reunion event given enough notice (3-4months in advance). Nadine mentioned she is working to create/start an SRS Alumni Network. Communication with the PMC had its struggles. * Jack was great to work with and eager to help with set-up, questions, etc. * Roberta did not respond to s in a timely manner if at all in some cases. Additionally, parish blasts often did not contain information about Trivia Night until 1 week prior to the event. * Mary Siefke was helpful with the bulletin. FYI, the Christmas bulletin is compiled 2 weeks prior to Christmas weekend so she needs information ASAP, including any changes. We are looking forward to being back competing next year! USED UNIFORM: Lisa McKenna I would like to report that the used uniform sale made $204 during the open house sale. More uniforms were swapped than sold, but it still was a decent turnout. WOLVES GAME: Lori McGuire Game day is March 6, 3:00. Everyone who attends will receive a hat. Classroom with most ticket sales will enter a drawing for a Wolves jersey. Flyers went out. Needed to put on Buy Now Give Now instead of just checks. OTHER BUSINESS: Should get a traffic study done to figure out how to utilize the playground for all grade levels.
School Rush: Parents and students miss the papery directory and classroom lists for birthday parties, etc. Most parents use it on tablets or phones; do not go on the home computer to use. The planner is not clear per child. The main calendar should have separate social and academic entries. Android users cannot open attachments. Junior High is not updating assignments and tests on calendar. Thought all teachers were on board. A Google calendar in addition to School Rush is too much. Motion to Adjourn at 9:08 a.m. by Tracie Platt. Seconded by Laure Wiertel. ATTENDEES: Lorianne McGuire, Tracie Platt, Sheila Kalck, Padra Meyer, Patty Murawski, Laura Wiertel. OUR NEXT MEETING IS TUESDAY, MARCH 8 AT 7:00 P.M. IN THE COMMUNITY ROOM.
