The Orchestra lesson for today is Cello make up during Advisory. Attention all Marsh Creek Vocal Ensemble students: Our first rehearsal will take place today, February 16 th during Advisory period. Pack up after 7 th period and bring your belongings to the stage. You will dismiss at the normal time. Thanks. Chess Club is canceled for Tuesday, February 20 th. Attention all cheerleaders: Join the Nationally ranked Downingtown East High School Cheerleaders for their spring cheer clinic on Saturday, March 3 rd from 9-3. All participants will learn the basic and advanced skills of cheerleading based on your level of experience. No experience? We will teach you! This is the perfect opportunity for athletes who are trying out for DMS or LMS cheerleading to sharpen their skills. Please see Mrs. Catrambone in A317 for more information and a registration sheet. Any Girls interested in joining Heart and Sole for the SPRING season, Early Bird Registration is open online from now until March 12 th. On March 13 th the cost goes up $ The season will run from March 12 th to June 1 st on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 3:30-5:00. The season ends on Sunday, June 3 rd with our 5K race. If you have your costume fee ready, please bring it to room B121. Intramural Tchoukball participants: a reminder that due to today s early dismissal we will not have Tchoukball Intramurals. We will meet again next Thursday but it will be for just the top 4 teams who will play in the Championship round. These four teams are: Fin Whales, Dolphins, Big Tuna, and Hammer Heads. The Orchestra lessons for today are 3 rd period: Blue Violins, 6 th period: Blue Violins, 7 th period: Gold Violins, and Bass make up during Advisory. Chess Club will meet this Tuesday, February 13 th. Attention Narwhals, despite your best efforts and the appearance of a rather tall 6th grader, the teachers won the game on Friday. The streak continues. For those of you who were not there it was a nail biter that ended up in overtime. Clinching the win for the teachers was Mrs. Mackel with her clutch basket during overtime. The stands were packed and everyone had a great time. Stay tuned for a money total. Coin Wars update: Ms. DiLeo's class had an incredible showing on Friday and currently leads the school and Gold House with 20,189 points. Leading the Blue House is Mrs. Moyer. In honor of Black History Month, there is a new display of African American patents and inventions in the lobby. Please check it out as you pass by! Each day of this month we will highlight a different African American person of interest. Today is the last day of the Book Fair! Make sure to stop by the Library today! Don t forget to buy a Valentine s Day gift from Student Council. The sale ends today, February 2 nd. Each Valentine will come with a gift tag where you will write the first and last name of the person you re sending it to, their homeroom, and a message just for them. The SPCA wish list includes dog beds, cat scratchers, soft dog treats, peanut butter, dry and wet cat food, washable cat/dog toys, Small/medium plastic pet carriers, towels, sheets, blankets, Easy walk harnesses (Medium and Large), collars, Poop bags, Dish soap, paper towels, bleach, cat toys, KMR powder, pet nursing bottles, dry and wet kitten food, heating pads, and kitty litter. They would also like some office supplies. When you get a chance, please help the animals by donating these items to the library.

11 Don t forget to take pictures of yourself volunteering and helping to make the world a better place during your Agent of Change activities. If you take Art class, you will use these pictures to create a pic collage. Today's Black History Month moment focuses on the "Super Soaker"! This extreme water pistol was created in 1991 by an African-American scientist named Lonnie Johnson. At the time of his invention, Johnson worked for NASA as a rocket scientist. During one of his labs he discovered a new way to propel water out of a tube. This led him to create the super soaker. Today, over 200 million of these toys have been sold worldwide!
