2 Flap your fins... Dear Scrappers: Whew! Summer is in full swing with Independence Day marking the halfway point! I ve created a few summer layouts to help you savor the these days long after they have come and gone. You ll find two dedicated to the Fourth of July (although both of the kits could be used for Disney photos as well for the Fireworks Display and Liberty Square). Whether you swim like a guppy or a shark, you ll want to display your water photos here. $14 (Reg. $18) A Hunny of a Shot! In addition, you ll find more summer layouts for water fun, putt putt, camping, grilling and baseball. My landmark series continues to be popular both local and travel. Next month I plan to feature both the Johnson Shut Ins and the St. Louis Zoo with the Polar Bear Exhibit. The Disney A-Z series concludes with next month with Zeus after 2+ years. Can you believe it? At Elephant Rocks State Park giant, billion-year-old granite boulders stand end-to-end like a train of red circus elephants. The coarsely crystalline red granite forms are popular with history buffs who like to read the names of the 19 th century miners who used to work in the area and who carved their names into rocks. Children love to climb and scramble over and through the rocks and parents revel in taking pictures of their children pretending to push the rocks. The park has a trail that winds through the rocks. Abundant picnic areas and vibrant fall colors add to the park s appeal. A self-guiding trail (with Braille signage) winds among these geologic wonders and takes you past what remains of the longdead mining operation.picnic sites and flush restrooms are available. The park is managed by Battle of Pilot Knob State Historic Site. The park is off of Route 21, four miles north of Pilot Knob.

4 It just takes a Spark! Downs Syndrome Donation Thanks to the generous scrapbookers at Mickey Mania #5, we raised $700 for Downs Syndrome. This is the most we ever raised at one event. I give you a High Five and thank you from the bottom of my heart! BONUS KITS: Currently I am reviewing the reward system of buying 5+ kits on an order to earn a special simple kit for free. Some scrappers love receiving the BONUS kits with a handmade card while others do not. What was intended as a positive reward becomes negative to the scrappers who got something they didn t want. I am brainstorming ideas of how to make the reward system an incentive rather than a disappointment while keeping the system easy and simple. Your ideas are welcome.
