3 Competition Levels Please note that each performer or group must register for the proper competition level according to each dancer s skill level. Although, any performer or group may opt to move up to a higher competition level if they so desire. If any routine competing with two or more performers has one dancer that competes in a higher competition level, that routine must be placed in the higher competition bracket. Directors and Coaches must use their own discretion when determining which level a routine should compete in. Routines that are noticeably placed within an incorrect competition level may be evaluated by the judges and deductions will be assessed accordingly. *Superior Level ~ (Advanced) Dancers who have mastered the beginner to intermediate level skills and are working to achieve a higher level of combinations and skills. The highest and most competitive level of dancers. Dancers who place in the top 10 at most competitions ~ stage and/or court competitions. *Prestige Level ~ (Intermediate) Dancers who have mastered the basic skills and are working to achieve a higher level of choreography and dance skill terminology. Dancers who compete on a regular basis that are between a beginners to advanced level. *Star Level ~ (Beginner) Dancers who are working to perfect the basic dance steps and skills. Dancers with little or no competition experience. Page 3 of 12

4 *Age divisions for each competition season will be based as of January 1 st. Names and birthdates of all contestants must be placed on each entry form at the time of registration. For any routine competing with two or more dancers, all ages will be averaged together, the decimal point will be dropped, and the routine will be placed within the proper age division. Duet/Trio and Group entries will not be able to compete in an age division more than one division younger than the oldest dancer s age as of the January 1 st date regardless of the average age. For example, if a year old are dancing in a group routine with an average age of years, the group routine would still have to compete in the year age division. *Age division breakdown: 4 5 years 6 7 years 8 9 years years years years years Collegiate Adult Age Divisions Awards Star, Prestige, & Superior Levels There will be multiple Awards presented in each age division and competition level Page 4 of 12 Scores Diamond Platinum Gold Silver

5 Dance Categories & Point Deductions *As stated on page one (1) of our rules and regulations guidelines, our company prides itself on providing a family friendly environment suitable for all ages. We are very strict when it comes to inappropriate music, lyrics, dance movements and costuming. If our staff or judges feel that a piece of music or dancers routine is being performed inappropriately a one (1) point deduction per judge will be deducted from the scoresheet. *Below is a list of Dance Categories, please make sure that you register your routine in the appropriate category. Many of our categories do allow five (5) Acro/Gymnastic skills to be incorporated into the routines but for those categories that do not allow them, a half (.5) point deduction per judge will be deducted from the scoresheet as well as if a routine goes over the five (5) Acro/Gymnastic skill limit. *If a routine has been registered within the wrong dance category, point deductions will be assessed. If you have any questions regarding a specific dance style, please contact our Redemption Dance & Cheer Showcase Staff for clarification. *Alphabetical Categories: Acro/Gymnastics Dance *A routine demonstrating a blend of acrobatics such as walkovers, chest rolls, aerials, handstands, chin/elbow stands, etc. along with controlled flexibility while still emphasizing dance choreography. *80% of the routine must consist of Acrobatics or points will be deducted. Baton *A routine involving the use of a baton(s) while continuing to include dance choreography. Character *A routine in which a dancer portrays a character from a Broadway show, Movie, or Television. Page 5 of 12

Folkloric *A routine representing a specific ethnic style of dance such as Polka, Ballroom, Scottish, Hawaiian, etc. Hip Hop *A routine consisting of Hip Hop/Street style dance. *Any routine containing inappropriate lyrics, music, or dance steps will have points deducted as we offer a safe family friendly environment. Entry Limitations *Our company allows soloists to compete in as many dance categories as they like so that each dancer is not limited to just one or two styles of dance. With us broadening the limitation scale, a dancer can also win 1 st place in each dance category, however they will only be allowed to win one (1) top spot in the overall top 10 winner division per age group and the remaining top scores of each age division will place 2 nd 10 th.
