1 Galileo Weekly Newsletter December 3, 2016 Dear Galileo Families, Happy Sunday! I hope all of you are having an awesome weekend. It is hard to believe we are just a few weeks away from the Winter Holidays. I am also hopeful that you are much further ahead in your holiday planning than me:). Time goes by so fast when you are having fun!! These next two weeks are super-duper busy. As a reminder, the last day of student attendance is December 21st. Also, December 19-21st are early release days and our students get 1:00 p.m. Students will return to Galileo from the Winter Holidays on January 9th. We are offering a Winter Camp for those of you desiring a childcare option the week of January 2-January 6th. See below for details! Tuesday is our first Middle School Dance of the Year! The theme is Winter Wonderland. The students will be able to arrive to school in their dress code appropriate semi-casual attire for the event. The dance will be from 3:40 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Please plan to pick up your child in carline by 5:00 p.m. If you are able, please bring a light snack, beverage, or plastic ware for the Winter Wonderland Dance. Sanford Parade Galileo will have a float in the Sanford Parade on this Saturday, December 10th. Plan to come cheer on Galileo in downtown 6:00 p.m. Attention SAC Members:

2 The December 13th SAC meeting has been cancelled. 4 Due to popular demand, we will discontinue the lunchedible for the middle school students and replace it with the Deli Trio. The Deli Trio has Turkey, Turkey Ham, and Turkey Salami, Lettuce, Tomatoes, and a choice of condiments (mustard, mayo, or chipotle mayo). VOLUNTEER OPTIONS THIS WEEK! We need someone to trim and remove a fallen branch of a tree near our carline. If you can help, please LAST CALL for Box Tops for 2016!!! Please send in your Box Tops by Monday, December 19th! There are some Box Tops expiring 12/31/16, so we want to capture as many as possible to get free money for the school. It is SO helpful if your Box Tops come in already trimmed and checked for any expired one. If you feel really motivated, you can bundle them in sets of 50 and marked accordingly. Please turn in Box Tops to the front office. There is a three-bin caddy with a drawer marked "BOX TOPS" to the left of the trophy counter. Just deposit them there. Thank you for your continued support! Our History/Social Studies team is looking for donated items for their STEM projects in the ancient civilizations class. We will be working on building pyramids and creating life-sized mummies once we have the materials for it. Please follow this link to donate: Any parents that would like to help with the sound system for the 2016 Galileo Winter Holiday Show should Regular Volunteer Opportunities Sign UP below: s=09b7badb8fbb8b637b0a64765bb0 Need to input your volunteer hours?
