4 Behaviours Positive o With your game (with bat or ball) o Body Language Walking out to bat- head up, chest out and look at the opposition When fielding- stand erect and jog at change of ends/overs o About the game situation (win from any position) o Positive support for your team rather than negative towards the opposition Smart (know your game but more importantly know your mates game) o Think about the situation and tailor your game to suit i.e. where do you get scored off? How do you plan to score? o Who should field where? (best fielders in high traffic areas) o What is a good score? talk to your team mates Team first (selfless) o Not every person can make 100 or take 5fa, so make it easier for team mates o i.e. Finish off your over and hand off to your mate rather than going for the variation o i.e. Give the batsman who is going the strike or just stay in with them Know your role o Are you the one to hang around or to score runs? Are you playing a holding role or pressing for wickets? Are you going to open or bowl at the end? o If you don t know ask your captain or coach Do the little things o Bowlers hat o Running drinks o Watching the captain so he doesn t scream to get you to change position o Be at training and matches on time or early o Being aware of what is happening and supporting milestones

5 Expectations Practice Come to training with a purpose If you are unable to attend you must contact a member of the coaching panel or the captain of your eleven via phone call or text message In the nets, practice like you intend to play in the upcoming game Utilise every minute of training Ask questions if you are unsure or want assistance Bowlers drive the energy in the nets During practice, fielding should be done in small groups to avoid standing around Game Day Before the game: The warm up starts mins before the game, so players should arrive with enough time to prepare..1¼ hours before scheduled start of play Assess the playing conditions by inspecting the wicket and outfield Think about what your role will be for the day During Batting Innings: Sit together Discuss what is happening in the game..know which opposition players have the best throwing arms and which don t No phones while play is on Celebrate milestones Personal but more importantly partnerships Keep the scoreboard updated at completion of every over In the Field: Always watching your captain Be involved as much as possible Support our players rather than too much talk to the opposition Celebrate maidens and overs under 2, count the dots Maintain good body language

6 Key Performance Indicators: These are some simple things we can tick off that will increase the chances of success. Batting: Score percentage per over (vs opposition) how many balls did we score off? 20 run partnerships (vs opposition) a 40 run partnership = 2 Partnerships under 10 runs (vs opposition) can the next partnership take up the slack? How we (partnership) can score vs how I can score Bowling: Maidens (vs opposition) either number or percentage Back to back maidens (vs opposition) Overs under 2 runs (vs opposition) Extras (vs opposition) vital in T20 and one dayers Fielding: Catches missed (vs opposition) Positive fielding +/- (runs saved vs runs given away) against ourselves not vs opposition Number of run outs (vs opposition) Number of byes (vs opposition) Individual commitment to a group effort is what makes a team work

7 What is my Personal Game Plan? (Example) This is about HOW you will make runs/take wickets Batting: Play as straight as possible, play inside my eye line (especially early) Always think about how WE (with your partner) make runs not how I can make runs Look for the single in front or behind point to rotate the strike or to get the already set batsman on strike Look to dominate spin, once the field is back use the gaps No half hearted strokes..back your ability and play to your strengths Bowling: Stand up (thought in my mind at the top of my mark) Protect point region, the ball goes there off good balls due to more pace Best fielders in the point and gully region Majority of balls at top of the stumps length Make the batsmen play as much as possible Patience is key Make sure the ball you are bowling matches the field (especially at the death) Make sure we find out early in a batsman s innings if he can play the short ball (don t wait until he is on 20 Maintain the ball differently depending on the conditions Fielding/Wicket keeping: Get to the ball as quickly as possible Anticipate the shot based on the ball/back lift Generally field at Mid-off, Mid-on, Long-off, Long-on Never be quiet..always support your mates Swarm the wicket on appeals Always watch the captain Think about how we could change the game (not always talk to the captain) The best game plans are often the simplest but they need to be adaptable to different situations.
