We are kicking our off public skating season Columbus Day Oct.8 th f ollowing our 2 nd annual Touch a Truck event. On Friday Oct.12 th at 7pm our regular public skating hours will start for the season. City Police, Fire and DPW vehicles will be on hand for kids to explore and the Recreation Dept. retired Zamboni will even be onsite! In addition to the City vehicles, this event will also offer the following activities that morning! -Free Book Give-away from Geneva Reads -Free Bounce House fun -Free activity area sponsored by the GNRC and GRD -Discounted skating at the ice rink as well $2 Admission/$1 Skate Rentals 1:00-3:30pm HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES A N N UA L P A R A D E Saturday, October 27th Parade Location: Downtown Geneva Parade Line forms at 1:30pm in front of the Armory on Main St. Parade to commence at 2:00pm. O U T D O O R M O V I E Friday, October 26th Coco Join the Historic North Neighborhood Association at Genesee Park for a free outdoor movie and free Halloween activities for the whole family. Drinks and snacks included, so pull up a hay bail and enjoy the festive fall fun!

Join Mary, a Certified Kripalu Yoga teacher, in a class designed for both beginning and intermediate level yoga students. Focus will be on learning how to reduce stress, improve flexibility and increase self-awareness. Safety equipment is needed. Goalies play for free, no hard checking allowed. For ages 18yrs & up. S E N I O R G OLD P ROGRAM C O N T I N U E S AT T H E YMCA For a fourth year, the Geneva Family YMCA and City of Geneva are partnering up to offer Senior Programming. The Gold program was created for residents 65yrs of age or older with an interest in healthy activities. Seniors have access to the Geneva YMCA Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 9a-12pm.One aquatics class and one aerobics class is scheduled for each of these days for a total of six free classes per week. Additionally, city residents have complete access to the Y s Fitness Center, Cardio Room and pool during this time. The program is funded by the City of Geneva and is free for qualified residents. The Gold Card program cards can be obtained by completing an application at the Geneva YMCA and by providing proof of residency. Contact Information: 399 William St

3 Recreation Brochure Page 3 E N R I C H M E N T Beginner DSLR Photography Sessions with Dan Bell Dates: Thursday Oct. 25 Times: 6:00-9:00pm Location: City Hall Team Meeting Room 2nd Floor Fee: $55 City/Town $70 Non-Residents This course will help you understand your camera and get the most out of your equipment in a fun and relaxed environment. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Beginner Info: This course will cover manual controls such as aperture, ISO, and shutter speed controls, JPEG and RAW formats, types and functions of optical lenses, use of natural and artificial light, image composition, and post processing. Lighting DSLR Photography Sessions with Dan Bell Dates: Saturday Nov. 17 Times: 9:00am-12:00 Location: City Hall Team Meeting Room 2nd Floor Fee: $55 City/Town $70 Non-Residents This course will help you understand using artificial lighting with your camera, and get the most out of your flash equipment in a fun and relaxed environment. Owning a flash is not a requirement, but it helps. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Lighting Info: This course will cover technical aspects of flash photography including ttl and manual flash settings, on/off camera flash, modifiers and gels, speedlights and studio flash, mixing ambient and artificial light, and assessment of natural light. The 24th Annual Light Up Geneva Auction is on November 14 at 5pm at FLX Live on Exchange St. All the money made during the event goes to the purchase and maintenance of all the holiday lights and decorations seen downtown. Day/Dates: Sunday s Session 1 Oct. 21st - Dec. 2nd **NO LESSON ON NOV. 24TH** Session 2 Jan. 27th - Mar. 3rd Discounted pricing for this year s Lessons! Times: 11:30am & 12:00pm (25 minute sessions, time depends on skill level) Fee: $45 per session, $80 for 2. Must register for multiple classes in advance. Instructor: Edie Falk The perfect program for first time skaters! Skate rentals are included in the program fee! Join Edie on the ice as she teaches basic skating skills. Group One: 11:30am beginner skill level 1. Group Two: 12:00pm beginner skill level 2. Helmets and gloves are required. Have a season pass with us, take an extra $5 off your final registration cost per person! Beginner (Initiation) Hockey with Geneva Generals Youth Hockey Program Ages 3-up Day/Dates: Saturday s Time: 8:15a-9:15a Session I: 10/20-11/10 Session II: 11/17-12/8, and 1/5-2/22 Fee: Session I is FREE, Session II : $125 ($75 Refundable deposit is required for those using GGHO equipment) Learn the fundamentals of hockey and acquire age appropriate skills in a fun instructional clinic setting.
