LAND 12.30pm-1.00pm: Basic Speed Skating exercises, focus on leg and arm coordination WEEK 2: SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 8th ICE 11.30am-12.15pm: Straight skills: how to get a good glide and powerful push. How to do a speed skating start. Canterbury Ice Rink is offering all skaters who complete the Skate Fast Program a discounted rate on the purchase of their next skate school card (to be used for 10 further speed school lessons). Normal price $150, Discounted Price $100 To redeem this offer, skaters are to present their Four Lesson Skate Fast Program Card when purchasing a new Skate School Card. This card can be used for Speed School lessons on both Saturdays (11.30am-12.15pm) and Mondays (6.oopm-6.45pm).

5 Like skating fast? Learn how to skate even faster with our month long speed skating program. WHAT IS IT? Learn the basics of speed skating and see how fast you can get in 1 month. Skaters will be tested in week 1 and week 4 to see how fast they can skate 1 lap of the rink. Skaters get 4 x 45min on ice lessons followed by 30min of land training exercises, as well as entry into the Skate School Race Day (5 weeks total). WHO IS IT FOR? Skaters already participating in the Speed School Skaters targeted from the Learn to Skate Program Anyone who wants to see how fast they can get in one month. Skaters should already have basic skating skills (Learn to Skate Level 3 or above) WHEN DOES IT RUN? Saturday September 1, 8, 15, and am-1.00pm (Ice Lesson 11.30am-12.15pm, Land Lesson 12.30pm-1.00pm) Saturday September 29 Skate School Race Day 11.30am-12.15pm. Racing and fun events for all Skate School Participants, with exhibition races from our club skaters and prizes to be won. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? $40: Includes all four on ice lessons and land training sessions on Saturdays, and free entry to the Skate School Race Day. Casual cost is $18 per lesson Skate School Race Day entry is $5 HOW DO I REGISTER? Fill out the attached form and pay at the front door. Entry into the 4 week program closes on August 31.
