A bartender will be available for drink purchases. We highly recommend purchasing the lunch buffet in advance, so that you don t get too hungry! Admission is included for all professionals who are participating. (Lunch is not included.) Please purchase your Lunch tickets in advance and send in your entries by August 11th. 2 DESCRIPTION OF CATEGORIES TO CHOOSE FROM Freestyles - an individual competition in which dancers are competing against a standard at their level Closed - no choreographed routines; within the dance level (Bronze, Silver, etc.) Open - the student can dance at any level and the material can have open choreography (usually has a choreographed entrance). Multi-Dance Freestyle - This is a 3-Dance, 4-Dance or 5-Dance freestyle event in which dancers will be competing against a standard in different dances in Bronze, Silver or Gold: 3-Dance Smooth: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot 4-Dance Smooth: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, VW 3-Dance Rhythm: Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing 5-Dance Rhythm: Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, Mambo 3-Dance Standard: Waltz, Tango, Quickstep 5-Dance Standard: Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep 3-Dance Latin: Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive 5-Dance Latin: Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Paso Doble, Jive Solo Exhibitions - A Choreographed routine to a specific piece of music picked by the participants in which the dance couple will be the only ones on the dance floor. The recommended maximum time is 3 minutes. Formation Exhibitions - More than one couple is performing in a choreographed routine. RULES & REGULATIONS No lifts or drops in single dance or multi-dance events are allowed. They are only allowed in Solo Exhibitions or Formations.

Ballroom costumes or dress slacks, shirt with tie and vest are allowed for men.

Couples will be judged on the following: lead and follow, posture, floor craft, creativity, musicality, originality, and technique.

No open choreographed routines are allowed in any closed freestyle or closed multi-dance event. Ladies are allowed to wear cocktail style dresses or ballroom gowns. An amateur couple's dance level must be based on the man's knowledge and ability, and the age category on the youngest of the two dancers. Couples will be judged on the following: lead and follow, posture, floor craft, creativity, musicality, originality, and technique.
