2 GREEN METAL FOR THE FUTURE At a time when the Global Community is fully focussed on Global Warming & Environment Protection, the emphasis is on Green in all walks of life, be it by way of energy conservation or reduced usage of natural resources. In this context, Aluminium is a metal which fits the bill on both counts. Aluminium can be re-cycled over and over again without losing its unique properties. By using just 5% of the energy originally used for extraction, we get a metal with exactly the same value as primary aluminium. Today, 95% of the Aluminium content of cars is recycled. Acknowledging the importance of Environment Protection, the theme of the 7 th Aluminium Conclave is : Green Metal For The Future 7 th Aluminium Conclave The Aluminium Conclave of the IIF Chennai Chapter is an annual program which took roots in the year Since then, it has grown from strength to strength and has now evolved into a three day event covering Works Visit, Aluminium Quiz & Technical Sessions. Eminent Speakers, Technologists, Industry Leaders, Big Players from Equipment Suppliers & Service Providers of the Industry shall converge on a common platform to give their insights and share their experience & knowledge, to take the industry into the future. 6 WORKS VISIT Works Visit is arranged to a reputed Aluminum Foundry in Chennai on 27 th April This Works Visit is open only to Delegates registered for the 7 th Aluminium Conclave. Registration fee for this Works Visit is Rs. 1,500 per member (inclusive of 15% service tax). Logistics & Lunch will be arranged for all the works visit participants. The bus shall leave from the Alumini Club at 10 AM with a pick-up point at Koyambedu, and return back by 5 PM. All Works Visit participants are also invited for a dinner arranged at the Alumini Club on 27 th April evening. Since only limited seats are available, registration for the Works Visit shall be on First Come basis. Further details shall be communicated by mail to all registered delegates.
