1 School Rules and Behavioral Expectations Common Area Be Safe Be Kind and Respectful Be Responsible All Common Areas Playground/ Recess Walk facing forward Keep hands, feet, and objects to self Get adult help for accidents and spills Use all equipment and materials appropriately Travel Safely Stay within boundaries Be aware of activities / games around you Hands and Feet to yourself What belongs on the ground stays on the ground (rocks, sticks, snow, grass, dirt) Use kind words and actions Wait for your turn Clean up after self Follow adult directions Play fairly Include everyone Follow school rules Remind others to follow school rules Take care of all personal belongings and school equipment Be honest Use hall/bathroom pass for leaving the area Return own equipment Help return spare equipment to buckets Line up quickly when the bell rings/ whistle Passing Areas: Halls, Sidewalks, Lines Stay to the right, single file Allow others to pass Walk using rules of the road Walk facing forward Hold the door open for the person behind you Use quiet and kind voices Stay on sidewalks Bathrooms Arrival and Dismissal Areas Library/ computers Keep feet on floor Keep water in the sink Wash hands Put towels in garbage can Use sidewalks and crosswalks Wait calmly and quietly Walk your wheels Chair legs on floor Calm bodies: hands, feet, and objects to self Walk slowly Give people privacy Keep our bathrooms nice and clean Use kind words and actions Follow adult directions Cooperate with and listen to crossing guards Use place marker when getting book off shelf. Use headphones with adult permission Check out books correctly Flush toilet after use Return to room/ activity promptly Use soap on hands only Arrive no earlier than 8:30 a.m. Leave by 4:00 p.m. Follow school rules on the way to and from school and home Return materials on time Treat books with care Adult supervision required Access only sites that are school appropriate

3 Playground Rules and Behavioral Expectations Play Area Be Safe Be Kind and Respectful Be Responsible Swings Slides Monkey Bars Field/West Wing Dip- sit on bottom only one person per swing stop swing before you get out stay a safe distance from the swings swing front to back slide on bottom only, feet first go up the ladder only line forms on the ground one person at a time on the slide and ladder one hand on bars at all times go left to right stay below the bars stay a safe distance from the bars hands, feet, body to self from fence from all drains from each other when rolling or running in the dip stay in the boundary area keep moving forward ask permission of other students before chasing them or playing tag what belongs on the ground stays on the ground (sticks, grass, rocks, sand, etc) Balls and Other Equipment No throwing balls at others Balls can be bounced against brick walls only Have an adult help you get any balls kicked over the fence Be aware of games/activities Balls must be shared Balls must be played with in the appropriate area Keep balls off the roof and within the fences Return equipment to the Play according to school rules
