1 MONTEREY ATHLETICS Terry Fox Run... was a huge success thanks to our Leadership team who organized this event, our staff who supported it and our students who braved the rain like Terry did to raise money for cancer research. Donations will be collected until Friday, October 12th. Any amount of money will be greatly accepted as Monterey strives to reach our $1,000 goal. Entertainment Books. orders are beginning to come in. Thank you for supporting our school (PE, Athletics and school wide spirit days)! Some classes have already well surpassed their class goal of 40 books sold! The midway draw will happen early next week, so if your child wishes to be included in this draw, and they are finished taking orders, please have them bring their order (money in provided envelope) on Tuesday. There will also be another draw at the end, so if you want to keep selling this popular book, please do so. The deadline for orders is Wed, October 17th. If you really don t want the book, please return it, in new condition, to your Advisory. Orders will be taken: Tues, Oct 9th Thurs, Oct 11th Mon, Oct 15th Wed, Oct 17th Seller prizes will be given out Thurs, Oct 18th. Orders will begin to be filled next week. Athletics Our soccer, cross country and basketball are underway. Read on for updates.... Soccer We have two teams this year, Sr girls (6,7 and 8) and Jr boys (6,7). Practices are now Tuesday morning only at 7:45 for both teams. Our

Sr Girls Game Schedule (no games this week) Wednesday, October 17 at SMU (three team jamboree) 4:20 Royal Oak vs. Monterey 4:55 Monterey vs. SMUS Jr Boys Game Schedule (no games this week) Thursday, October 18th at Glanford play at 4:20 and 4:55 Cross Country Please arrange your own transportation to and from the races. If you have them, wear your own personalized jersey, shorts and runners. If not, one will be signed out to your runner, but must be returned after the race.
