3 STORY LINE: VERSATILITY A strong, flexible and powerful athlete who came on at the close of the 2010 season at Buffalo after a successful season at Patchogue High School on Long Island, Jimmy Gordon is a versatile player who suited up at multiple positions at the Division I level. In high school and college, Gordon has played tight end, defensive end, h- back, fullback and on special teams. Gordon is a tremendous blocker, was a perfect 9- for- 9 in receiving during his senior season, spent time as a back up long snapper and was even a punter and linebacker in high school. He suited up at fullback in every game during his college career, including against opponents like Ohio State, Georgia, Tennessee and Baylor. Throughout his high school and college career, Gordon has been a threat in all three phases of the game offense, defense and special teams and brings a workman s attitude to the field everyday in order to add to his versatile pedigree on the gridiron.

Made three catches for 63 yards in the season opener against Georgia (9/1)... caught two passes for 23 yards and a touchdown against Morgan State (9/8)... pulled down a touchdown to help fuel the team s comeback win over Massachusetts (11/17). Sophomore Season at Buffalo (2011) Was given the starting position and he capitalized with a solid season, appearing in every game and making seven starts. Made five catches for 44 yards for the season... made two catches for 12 yards in the season opener against Pittsburgh (9/3)... had a season- long catch of 15 yards against UConn (9/24)... caught two passes for 17 yards against Akron (11/19). 6 GETTING TO KNOW JIMMY *Why do you believe that you re an NFL quality player? I'm versatile and have a good work ethic. Once I step foot on the field it's like I have a switch that makes me want nothing more than to dominate and succeed at the game I love. *Why would an NFL team want Jimmy Gordon on its roster? I'm dynamic in many roles of football. I play five different positions, including tight end, fullback, h- back, all special teams, and long snapping. The word can't is not in my vocabulary. I love the game of football and always put my all in whatever I am set out to do or whatever role I am told to play. I will step into any positional spot needed to make it on a roster. *What s your single best quality as a football player? My best quality as a football player is taking pride in being the hardest hitter out on the field. In college we had special teams Hits of the Week after each game and I took pride in winning that award several times. *Where do you see yourself in five years? In five years I see myself living my dream playing in the NFL in front of thousands of people each and every week and being able to show the world I am capable of being an impact player. *Tell us about a great recent moment in your life we can t read in the papers My life revolves around this great game of football and there is nothing more important to me than my family. On December 24, 2013 I was able to bring family and football together at another level. I traveled home for the holidays and took a trip to my high school football field to see the new turf that was recently installed, dragging my high school sweetheart along. It was important to me to go back and see the place in which all my dreams started and take her back to the field where she first supported me. Kaleigh, my girlfriend since high school, has been on the sidelines along with our families cheering me on since the days I played on that high school field. On the morning of Christmas Eve I finally was able to get down on one knee on the 50 yard line at Patchogue- Medford High School and ask her to marry me. I knew it was a commitment I was ready to make as I asked her to commit to my life and me with football for the rest of her life. *Tell us something we don t already know about Jimmy Gordon In high school my number was 9, and most of my family and friends referred to me as "Number 9." As I moved into college I was still pretty attached to that number so I chose 81 since 9x9 is 81 and 8+1 is 9. I guess you could say I am a little superstitious, but my Mom got me a necklace with both numbers on it. It is my good luck charm and I wear it everyday. I'm hoping to either continue my good luck legacy with my number or add another number to my lifelong journey.
7 WHAT THEY RE SAYING *MockNFLDraft.com We think Jimmy Gordon is going to be a star on the next level. *Kyle Brey, Nebraska Graduate Assistant and Buffalo alum: His physical skills you will see through his workouts, and I know he will display tremendous physical ability and passion for football. But maybe the best thing Jimmy showed me was his willingness to be incredibly coachable and willing to do whatever is asked of him for the betterment of the team. He was a great teammate and I know whatever he ends up doing in life he will be very successful because he is willing to sacrifice and work for the group first and himself second. Having that athletic ability combined with his humbleness to work and take coaching will make him a treasured asset for any team or company. *Jesse Rack, Florida Atlantic Graduate Assistant coach and Buffalo alum: Great Kid, hard worker, and loves football. He s the kind of guy you want on your team. He is a jack of all trades, and a leader and will do the little things. *Rashidi Greene, Director of Academic Services at Buffalo: He is a very diligent worker. He always seeks out sound advice and applies it. He was truly committed and totally invested in high academic achievement and in receiving his degree. He s a great person to be around. *Jamie LaBelle, NFL Training Consultant: "Jim Gordon is what every coach is looking for... durable, tough, reliable, coachable and talented." * Tom Combs Suffolk County Football Chairman: Jimmy Gordon is one of the hardest working football players I have been associated with in my 34- year football and administrative career. He has a drive that makes him special, not only as a player, but as a human being. His strength, size and athleticism, as well as his versatility, make him a coach s dream. *James Chiarello, Patchogue- Medford High Coach: "I didn't have any worries because on the field, he stood out. We watched people attack us and a lot of the time they ran away from him. That's how you know this kid's special. Jimmy had a relentless work ethic in the weight room as well as in the classroom, and made the players around him strive to work harder. He was an excellent leader and was always willing to help the younger members of the team with lifting or football related skills. He was also a counselor at our many little league camps helping the future of the program and he often came back to the school to talk to and encourage young athletes during the off- season. *Paul Longo, William Floyd High Coach: As a tight end, Jimmy Gordon was so dominating that he literally took the game over by himself. When you talk about impact players, he was the true definition of that term. If you did not account for him, he would devastate you on both sides of the ball. As big and strong as he was, he was as equally as talented on special teams, which was supported by how great he punted the ball, keeping his team in excellent field position due to his play in all three aspects of the game. *Dave Falco, Sachem High Coach: Jimmy Gordon was a fierce competitor. He was the only guy you had to game plan against if you wanted to have success against Patchogue. Jimmy needed to be accounted for on both sides of the ball or he could beat you all by himself. *Chris R. Vaccaro, Long Island journalist/historian: Pound- for- pound, Jimmy Gordon is one of the toughest players to play high school football on Long Island. When he hit an opponent you could feel it. As time progresses he may be one of the best weapons to come off the Island in quite some time.
