3 YouTube Spotlight: Matthew Santoro- Junior This week I'm doing Matthew Santoro. He h a s 5, 6 7 1, s u b s c r i b e r s a n d 814,709,414 views so far! Matthew has new videos with usually 10 or 50 mind blowing facts every week. He's written a book of mind blowing facts from all the videos he s done. Some of my favourite facts I learned from watching his videos were; an ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain, there are 158 versus in the greek national anthem and that makes it the longest national anthem, and the regular lead pencil can draw a line that is 35 miles long. To subscribe to Matthew Santoro go to matthewsantoro?su for new videos Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays! Follow him for daily facts and important updates! The construction is expected to take up to six years to complete, and will impact some surrounding properties. For the next four years, the city will focus on acquiring surrounding properties for the upgrades, and the construction will start after design is completed, which is expected to be Holiday Trivia- Junior In the movie 'Elf (2003)', which is not considered a food group according to Buddy The Elf? a) Candy Canes b) Candy Corn c) Syrup d) Egg Nog The answer to last week's question was: c) Jim Carrey DECEMBER 19TH 2016 PAGE 4

10 The Science Corner- Junior Do you love science? Check out this area every week for a new science experiment! Dry Ice Bubble: You Will Need: Water A large bowl with a lip around the top (a smaller bowl or cup will work too) A strip of material or cloth Soapy mixture for making bubbles (water and some dishwashing liquid should do the trick) Dry ice - one piece for a cup, more for a bowl. Places where adults can buy dry ice include large grocery stores and Walmart. Butchers and ice cream stores might have some too. Safety first! Be careful with dry ice as it can cause skin damage if not used safely. Adults should handle dry ice with gloves and avoid directly breathing in the vapor. Method: 1. Place your dry ice in the bowl and add some water (it should start looking like a spooky cauldron). 2. Soak the material in your soapy mixture and run it around the lip of the bowl before dragging it across the top of the bowl to form a bubble layer over the dry ice. 3. Stand back and watch your bubble grow!removes the copper oxide that was making your coins look dirty. Be sure to have an adult help you throughout the whole process! DECEMBER 19TH 2016 PAGE 10
