1 Brooklyn Heights Recreation Department YOUTH SOCCER Non-Residents $25 Fall Spring Both groups are Co-Ed September / October Mid April / Mid May Spring / March 1 Fall / July 31 Pre Smurf - Age Group: 3 & 4 Year Olds Introduction to soccer Practice once per week Team based on number of participants Players merge with Smurf Program if participation is low Practices held at the top level of Village Park Smurf - Age Group: 5 & 6 Year Olds Players learn basic skills and rules of the game Scrimmaging is usually done at the end of practices Practices held at the top level of Village Park COMPETITIVE SOCCER Non-Residents $50 (covers both Fall and Spring seasons) Brooklyn Heights is a member of the SRSL Soccer League Boys Age Groups: U7, U8, U9, U10, U12, U14 Girls Age Groups: U8, U10, U12, U14 Ages as of August 31st Fall Spring Early September / Late October April / Mid-May Home games are held at Village Park Players can play with Valley View team if we are short players We make every effort to have separate boys and girls teams Fall Season, July 31st Spring Season, March 1st

2 BASKETBALL Cost: Resident, Free Age Groups: Grades 3 & 4 Grades 5 & 6 Early December through March October 15th Separate Boys and Girls teams Practice in November and throughout season at CHS North Gym Games are held in Valley View and Seven Hills We may combine with Valley View team if insufficient number of players GIRLS SOFTBALL Cost: Resident, Free Age Groups: Girls Coach Pitch, Ages 7-9 Girls Mini Tail, Ages 9-11 Girls Pig Tail, Ages Emerald Necklace, Ages Age is as of January 1st Games begin early June through mid-july Home games at Village Park Mini Tail is first year of Fast Pitch Girls who are 9, or will be by August 31st, have option to be with Girls Coach Pitch, or move up to Mini Tail Pig Tail age group plays in the Seven Hills League Emerald Necklace team is currently combined with Valley View and Newburg Hts. Practice starts early May Champion Teams receive trophies at Home Days

3 SOFTBALL: T-BALL & PRE T-BALL Non-Residents, $25 Age Groups: Pre T-Ball, Ages 3 & 4, Co-Ed Introduction to softball Practice once per week Team based on number of participants Players merge with T-Ball program if insufficient participation Practices are on the top level of Village Park T-Ball, Ages 5 & 6, Co-Ed Players learn basic skills and rules of the game Home games are played on Diamond #1 of Village Park Games are mostly on Saturday mornings Practice starts mid-may Participation trophies are handed out at Home Days Starts early June BASEBALL Age Groups: Boys Coach Pitch, Ages 7-8 Boys Minor, Ages 9-10 Boys Major, Ages Boys Pony, Ages Early June through mid-july Home games at Village Park Practice starts early May Champion teams will receive trophies at Home Days

4 ADULT SOFTBALL Cost: Teams are self-fund, assume $20-25 Age: 18 Year Old Minimum Men s League Games on Sunday, Monday or Wednesday Season from early August through early October Most games played on Diamond #2 in Village Park Women s League Games on Tuesday and Thursday evenings Season from early August through late September Games are played on Diamond #2 in Village Park Sign up Deadline: July 15th FLAG FOOTBALL Co-Ed Age Groups: Grades 3 & 4 Grades 5 & 6 Games are played in Valley View Practices are in either Brooklyn Hts. or Valley View Additional information in June CHEERLEADING Cost: $50 for all Non-Valley View Residents Age: Grades 3 through 6 Sign up Deadline: August 1st Additional information in June CLINICS Youth Pitching Clinic Clinic held at Winik Field in Valley View Sunday, May 19, 2013, 1:00-2:30 p.m. Cost: $7 per child Age: Coed, Ages 9 through 15, as of August 1 Youth Baseball / Softball Clinics Clinics held at Winik Field in Valley View Cost: $7 per child Coed, Ages 4 through 9, as of August 1 Sunday, April 28, 2013 / 12:00 pm.. - 1:30 p.m. Coed, Ages 10 through 14, as of August 1 Sunday, April 28, 2013 / 2:00 pm.. - 3:30 p.m.
