As the Over-all In-charge of University Admissions, I played a pivotal role in overhauling the whole admission process in the University in The submission of application forms was made on-line, answer keys to question papers were displayed on the web for the comments of examinees and the feedback from candidates in respect of the answer keys was given due consideration, before evaluation of OMR sheets. The whole process of selection was made most transparent, which was highly appreciated by the civil society in general and student community in particular. ii. Was instrumental in revising the M. Phil/Ph. D/D. Sc/D. Litt./DCL Statutes, making them not only student-friendly but also in total conformity with the 2009 guidelines set by UGC. iii. Organized 6 th J & K Science Congress at University of Kashmir in December, b. As Director, Center of Research for Development [ ] i. Was instrumental in getting the Centre recognized at National level as a well established Research Center fit for undertaking Environmental Impact Assessment Projects. This is quite evident from the fact that a number of Environmental Monitoring/Consultancy Projects [for details see item No. X below] were garnered by the Center during my tenure of Directorship ( ). c. Played a key role in establishing the Post Graduate Department of Environmental Science (started in 2001) in the University on sound footing, with the result that about 30% of the pass outs during the tenure of my Headship qualified the NET/SET examination. Provided expert opinion on Fishery Conservation related Aspects in respect of Uri I, Uri II and Nimoo-Bazgo Hydropower Projects to the Uri Civil Ltd.
