Quality of target species, nephrops is recognisably better using the trial gear. Quality of fish (by-catch) is recognisably better using the trial gear.

Several trials with simple version of the net grid to release all the fish To the mouth of the trawl. Reduced discards in the region of 63%. 5 % less whiting, 74% less haddock, 90% less plaice 66% less lemon sole.
