5 WELCOME TO SUFFOLK WATER PARK! INTRODUCTION Suffolk Waterpark is located in Bramford, Suffolk. We have 9 beautiful Lakes in rural surroundings. A former quarry works, the fishery has been carefully developed, the result is a magnificent site, offering some of the very best fishing in the area. We offer. 6 Match Lake 1 ABOUT THE LAKE The first lake at the far end of the complex is 7 acres and lined with beautiful Willows. Match Lake 1 is a popular match water with 42 pegs and acts as a fantastic runs water for avid Carp anglers. The lake holds Carp to 20lb & a big head of skimmers. There are platforms which are T shaped. You can park behind your swim, just off the road apart from pegs 1 to 10 where there is NO PARKING allowed behind these pegs so please use allocated parking spaces provided. Pegs 1 10 have steep sloped banks but there are others which have a more gentle incline to the peg. NIGHT FISHING ON MATCH LAKE 1 There are 8 night fishing pegs which are bookable in advance, situated either end of the lake. Prices are the same as the Traditional Lake for overnight fishing. Phone to book in! WATER DEPTH 6ft at the Golf Club end 10ft under the trees (from peg 35) FISH SPECIES Carp to 20lb average around 8lb Bream & Tench to 6lb Rudd, Perch, Roach BAIT & TACKLE TIPS AND ADVICE If you re fishing for Perch, try the far end near the Golf Course, in the margins or under the platforms. If you re Carp fishing try meat, corn and maggot. Fish the method feeder with pellet or corn. If you re fishing for Silvers, try the pole, small method or cage feeder. 7 Match Lake 2 ABOUT THE LAKE This 31 peg lake is 3 acres and holds small Carp and a big head of skimmers. Its popular with anglers fishing for Roach and Rudd with some bonus Perch & Tench to be had! The platforms are square, wide and sturdy, which always prove popular for holding the fishing club, as families can double up on the platforms. You can park behind your swim, just off the road. Number of pegs: 31 Water Depth: Average 5 ft FISH SPECIES Small Carp Skimmers, Roach, Rudd Bonus Perch & Tench FISHING TIPS AND ADVICE The lake bed is convex in shape, therefore the corners are slightly deeper. 8 Match Lake 3 & the Canal MATCH LAKE 3 (AKA THE DOUGHNUT) This 20 peg lake is round in shape with an island in the centre, which holds various trees attracting rare birds, woodpeckers and Kingfishers. The entrance to some of the square platforms have steep inclines to them although those under the trees have easier, more level access. You can park near to your swim in the allocated spaces provided. Number of pegs: 20 Water Depth: Average 3ft FISH SPECIES Carp up to 1-2lbs Skimmers & Crucians Scores of Roach & Rudd Tench to around 5lb Ideal for: All ages, Families and beginners. Fishing Tips: Fish the middle of the water for Skimmers and the far shelf for Tench. Use the Pole, Waggler or whip with Sweetcorn THE CANAL This 20 peg lake is long like a canal. The swims have gentle inclines to them and you can park relatively near to your swim in the allocated spaces provided. 11 Match Lake, Canal & Traditional Lake Rules We always look after and care for our fish, the environment and all our anglers. ABOUT The following THE rules LAKE must be adhered to, not only to ensure our fish are safe but also to make sure you are safe too and enjoy your time here with us. Failure to comply with the rules will result in you being asked to leave the fishery. Rules/ V5/ Aug 2016 NO visitors without permission from the ticket office NO Dogs allowed on site NO parking / driving on the grass use Parking bays provided Maximum 2 rods each Barbless hooks only NO Braided hooklinks or elasticated feeders (Coated braid is acceptable) NO fixed RIGS Surface fishing is allowed although NO loose floating feed baits must be used NO nuts or particles except hemp and corn (Bait-Tech tiger nuts may be used) Please keep bite alarms on a low Sacking of fish and the removal of any fish from the fishery is strictly prohibited DO NOT leave rods unattended Large unhooking Mats & Landing Nets are compulsory Use litter points provided and take care of wildlife Fishing from allocated swims only LOYALTY SCHEME All year round Grab a loyalty Card or download our APP for Android or I-Phone and get a stamp for each full day you pay for fishing, after 5 days you get the 6 th day absolutely FREE! 12 MATCH RULES No floating baits, nuts or cat meat. No fixed rigs or elasticated feeders. Net weight limit 50lbs. Matches & Match Lake Hire Suffolk Water Park holds Open and hosts Club matches over the year on the Match Lakes and Canal Lake. Match anglers usually arrive early for breakfast when the café opens at 7am. Silvers in their own net. No pole tapping floating pole. Only half way to the next peg and half way across. Match Lake 1 only: No parking behind pegs 1 11, please drop your kit at your peg and move the car to a car park. All nets are to be dry and laid out for inspection by fishery staff, only to be put in 15 minutes before the start. Bring Carp to the scales first when weighing in. Suggested timings: DRAW: 8.30am - FISH: 10am-3pm - WEIGH IN: By 4pm, We advise you to follow this structure or you can choose your own times although a maximum fishing time of 5 hours only is allowed. It s a smaller version of the Big Fish Lake with carp up to 30lb, Bream over 10lb and Tench to 10lb. There s plenty of Roach and Rudd to be had too. Many anglers visit the Traditional Lake to get a bend in the rod if they usually fish larger hard waters. The swims are all wood chipped and even, with easy access to the bank from your vehicle. These swims are suitable for you if you re unsteady on your feet or have mobility problems, as they provide easy swim access and you can park almost just behind your swim. Number of pegs: 20 Night pegs: 16 (see map) Water Depth: Average 3ft Fishing Tips: There is minimal weed in the water and a band of silt runs

Don t fish too far out, 2 4 rods lengths out is sufficient enough (maximum cast 25m only) and there s no need to cast right to the island.

15 TRADITIONAL LAKE Night Fishing Night fishing is getting very popular on this lake and with the limited swims booking is advised. Please call the shop to register and book a space (not an allocated swim) to avoid disappointment. Number of pegs: 20 Night pegs: 16 (see map) Water Depth: Average 3ft Fishing Tips: There is minimal weed in the water and a band of silt runs around the entire lake about two rod lengths out. Don t fish too far out, 2 4 rods lengths out is sufficient enough (maximum cast 25m only) and there s no need to cast right to the island. Don t forget the margins! Bait wise, try meat, corn or maggot. Pale boilies work well such as Mainline Salty Squid and Peaches & Cream. A lot of meat goes into the lake so give the Bait-Tech Poloni range a go too. (Flush BEFORE & after use) Toilet & Shower block with disabled toilet behind Ticket Office. Water supply, tap to side of Ticket Office for anglers' use. Café Open 7 days a week from 7am to 3pm. Arthur's Burger Van is been booked every Saturday throughout May to September from 4pm - 7pm in the main Car park. Peg Deliveries can be organised (subject to staff availability) during opening hours. Two bookable swims see page 32 We have a strict NO LITTER Policy, so sit and admire the beautiful, peaceful surroundings and various wildlife whilst fishing on the magnificent Big Lake. Our annual NASH Social Event & Match on 13th - 14th May 2017 was great fun, with 31 keen anglers (pictured above) receiving amazing NASH Goodie Bags full of Terminal Tackle & a Beer & Burger voucher courtesy of us at SWP. The anglers all fished for 24 hours and had time to mingle with guests & visitors and have a bite at Arthurs burger van with lots of Carp were caught during the evening. ABOUT THE LAKE The exclusive and stunning Jacobs Creek Lake covers 2 acres and has average depths ranging from 3 7ft. The Lake holds 3 swims with 3 log cabins.

There are steps up to the huts. Parking is directly behind the cabins off the road.

This is one of our hidden gems and the whole lake is bookable in advance. The cabins have no electric and are 10 x 10 foot square with plenty of space for 2 bed chairs in each. There are steps up to the huts. Parking is directly behind the cabins off the road. Cost: From 1st April Jacobs will be upgraded, which will include a picnic/ social area, purpose built BBQ and a portable toilet amongst other improvements at a cost of 150 for the whole lake for 24 hours regardless of numbers of anglers although we recommend 4 anglers max. Jacobs Creek can only be prebooked upon receipt of a 50% deposit which can be taken in the shop or over the phone During busy periods, a portable toilet is situated behind the huts. Fish Species The Lake holds a good head of stunning Carp up to a reported 28lb this year. There are plenty of beautiful Tench to 5lb, Roach, Rudd and Perch. Located near to all amenities, not far from the shop and next door to the café, this peg also has portable toilets off the road directly behind it. It has been a welcome addition to our bookable swims and so far, has proved popular with all anglers, especially those travelling long distances or with mobility problems. The depth of water in peg 31 averages around 7ft. This is a double swim which gives the angler to the right of the peg, the opportunity to fish Peg 32 s water, which is now shut. There is plenty of gravel throughout this swim and there is no need to cast past the 70-yard limit. (No Bait Boats are permitted in this swim.) Flag Pole Winter 24 hours 40 Summer 24 hours 48 (The above prices are based on 2 anglers) Spacious double 3 rods each but also suits up to 3 anglers with 2 rods each. If you re travelling a long distance and want to ensure a place on the Big Lake we ve opened this swim up as a bookable peg. The Flag Pole is situated on a small headland in the popular, more shallow area of the big lake. It has a secluded walkway down to the swim and is ideal for families and fishing socials. 34 Disability Access Entry to the Complex: Suffolk Water Park has a large carpark with plenty of spaces. The Water Front Diner has two disabled parking spaces outside and anglers are welcome to park next to the shop or temporarily just outside at the end of the path whilst they purchase their tickets. TICKET OFFICE AND SHOP There is a ramp to the side of the building and 4 shallow steps up to the shop entrance. The doors are wide enough for wheelchairs. Wheelchair users will find that there is a lower reception area with a chest freezer, located at the end of the reception counter. Our friendly staff are happy to help you and will locate and access any bait & tackle you require from around the shop, just ask a member of staff. WATER FRONT DINER The café has a disabled toilet which is available for use during opening hours, which are currently 7am to 3pm. THE BIG LAKE Pegs 1 to 3 These pegs are just next to Car Park 2 at the base of the horseshoe. There is a short walking distance to these pegs. Pegs 4 to 19 These pegs are on the spit and therefore anglers need to barrow there gear up to the point. The furthest pegs on the point are 10 round to 14. 35 Pegs 19a -21 There is a parking bay at the base of the spit next to Peg 21. Heaven. This will allow disabled anglers to use pegs 21 to 19a if they wish. Pegs There are laybys all along the shallower side of the Big Lake with a short walk to the swim. Peg 31 is popular with those with mobility problems as it is a double swim and near to the café and disabled toilet, with a portable toilet behind. Pegs There are shallow steps down to these pegs and no hand rail so would be unsuitable for those with severe mobility problems. MATCH LAKES AND TRADITIONAL LINK TO MAP The Traditional Lake is encircled by a road with layby just behind the swims. All swims are flat and woodchipped. Match Lake 1 has platforms with the exception of pegs which are now woodchipped. Pegs 1 to 9 have gravel paths down to the platforms which are reasonable steep. Match Lake 1 is currently having an accessible platform being built for wheelchair users! There is no parking behind pegs 2 to 10 but plenty of allocated parking is found near to the swims. Parking is permitted on the road behind swims 19 to 32. Match Lake 2 has square sturdy platforms and parking is permitted on the road behind all swims.
